Blurry waveforms with no music has come to Traktor Pro 4

Hello,

I know this is an ongoing issue for some but the "blurry waveforms with music dropping out" occurrence is now in Traktor Pro 4 as well as every version of Traktor above 3.5.1. I have not been able to use any other version above 3.5.1 because of this occurring so randomly. I paid 75 dollars for the Pro 4 upgrade and I can't even use it in public. This is a known issue and it has not been fixed or even acknowledged by NI. Pretty much every solution people have recommended doesn't work (Disabling loading on stopped deck, keeping buffer size over 512, power options, usb power options). There are some other bugs with Pro 4 but this one renders it USELESS in a pro setting. Did anyone find a concrete solution that has completely stopped this problem? NI, do YOU have any recommendations? It takes a lot for me to post but I'm out of ideas here. Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

What are you talking about? Blurry waveforms is just a visual inconvenience with a longer waveform stripes. It has nothing to do with dropping out music. Maybe NI will upgrade some day it with UI revamp.

And what is this "useless in a pro setting"? I know many world famous pro dj's who uses Traktor. And you aren't one of them.

So please describe your system specs and your audio problems in details if you want any help.

This is usually caused by a file that can’t be read properly from disk, or, maybe a damaged file (although nowadays TP usually warns you if there is a decoding problem in the properly loaded from disk file).

This is a known issue that no one cares to identify it and fix it has been happening to multiple users since at least last year.

I was hoping this was going away in version 4. Unfortunately, its still happening. I could be playing fine for hours and suddenly the wave goes blurry and 5 seconds later sound stops and TRAKTOR cannot be quit normally. Force quit is the only option. My drives are fine, my collection is pristine , this did not happen prior to 3.1 and does not happen in any other software like Virtual DJ or DJay. I am begging NI to address this!

    Hi @Joe Magic,

Does this only happen when you use the S4mk3?

Have you used other setups as well and experienced also this behaviour?

And can you maybe specify the track when this did happen?

This usually happens when Traktor looses connection to the audio interface. It's either …

    • OS prioritizes a different piece of software to use your HW, or…
    • HW connection gets interrupted (faulty cable, loose connection, USB hub looses power due to power saving settings).

I have startet Traktor as Administrator. Never happens again

(8 hours gig last weekend, no crash)

I always start it as admin. I never even think about recommending this. Should be an obvious step to take.

Thanks to suggestions above, seems too music activity on the USB buss seems to be the issue. I don't plug my iphone via USB during Tractor sessions anymore and the issue stopped. I think the S4 Mk3 needs a lot of attention on the USB chain. Possibly a powered usb hub would also help.

The audio interface should be connected directly to your notebook, not via external usb hub with additional devices attached.
