Maschine 3 not working with Pro Tools

I have the most recent version of Maschine (3 I suppose?) At any rate, I can not get it to record midi in Pro Tools. I have gone back and deleted the 5 weird plug ins from my Avid Audio folder, no luck. I can hear it as a hardware insert, I can hear it as a plug in. I just can not record midi at all. I can record one track on one channel at a time. For example, I can open the hardware software, write in 4/4 bass drum pattern, then assign that to a track, record it - show up as a wave form instead of midi notes. So I suppose I could very laboriously deal with it, but this seems like utter ******. I have read everything I can find online to no avail. Closed the apps, closed computer a billion times. I haven't tried throwing it through the wall yet - maybe that would work.

Do you mean the controller version or the software version? Maschine MK3 is the latest controller, the latest version of Maschine is 2.18.1. Simply click on the NI logo in the Maschine plug-in or standalone application to find out.

What are you trying to achieve exactly? If you want to record MID witht he controoler you need to put it in MIDI mode.

Does that address the issue? If not, please explain what you're trying to achieve.

The controller or the plug in. Neither is syncing with pro tools. I can record a patter on the hardware, then record it as a single track but am not able to route the individual drums to individual channels. Nor am I able to use it as a plug in.

I am able to see the meter moving, it just records no sound.

@HolyMountain We'd really need more info in order to help you.

For troubleshooting can you check if you open the Maschine software in standalone, is everything functional?

What version of Maschine software are you using? Click on the NI logo in Maschine when in Pro Tools.

Have you tried the following: How to Route Maschine 2 Sounds to Separate Audio Tracks in Pro Tools [VIDEO]

The controller or the plug in. Neither is syncing with pro tools. I can record a patter on the hardware, then record it as a single track but am not able to route the individual drums to individual channels. Nor am I able to use it as a plug in.

What happens exactly if you open a Maschinre plug-in inside ProTools? Please explain step by step, use screenshots to illustrate if needed.

Stand alone it works fine. I am trying to record midi notes to a pro tools instrument track.

I have read all the previous posts about this to no avail. I have created a midi instrument channel. Opened an instance of Maschine 3 Native Instruments drum machine. Set up the plug in properly to record midi to pro tools. Wrote a simple 4 beat loop. Hit record on the channel. I can see the meters moving. I hit record on Pro Tools. Slider moves, no notes are recorded. I can go in and write notes with pencil, I just can't record them directly from either the plug in or the hardware. Just for fun I tried another midi synth, same issue, so it's not Maschine. I have my midi settings correctly set to see the hardware. Clues?

Not sure if this matters, my Maschine plug in just says "Maschine 2 (stereo)" It is not defined as an aax plug in. It works fine as far as loading, producing sound etc. I also have deleted the 5 Fb plugins that interfere with it.

I was able to use a midi keyboard on the same track and record a piano via Kontakt. I also was able to hook up another drum machine and record audio with it to an audio track. So it has to be a setting with the Maschine or Maschine plug in

Ok, no clue how but I have it now where I can record notes via the hardware to the instrument track. HOWEVER, I can not hear them while recording or afterwards. I can also record notes from hardware to the plug in and hear them, but not on the track - the hardware is simply writing notes to the plug in. I have an instance of the plug in on the track, the hardware set to midi channel (via shift + Channel button). Can now see the notes, but not hear them. Also, no audio upon playback.
