Any way to see the note pitch of the kick synth module in Maschine + in standalone?
Is there any way to see the note pitch of the kick synth module on the hardware in standalone mode on Maschine +? I know when it's in controller mode you can see it in the software on desktop. Wondering if it's visible anywhere on the standalone controller. Thanks.

Maybe change to keyboard mode? so you move up and down in semitones

I mean specifically when you change the "tune" parameter of the kick synth module. In the software it shows you the note pitch when you change the tuning.

That (fine tuning) may be available via the knobs from keyboard view - not by Maschine+ right now, but may be worth looking there!

I'm asking about this value in that is displayed in the Maschine 2 software when you look at the Kick synth on the mixer page:
It shows the nearest pitch of the fundamental the kick synth is tuned to.
I checked in keyboard mode and none of the plugin/device parameters show there on the hardware. It only shows the numeric value when you are in the plugin view as far as I can tell.

No you have to use ears but you can connect app or use it with speakers and tuner will respond especially if you have patience Analyzer will show more accurate but a frequency and then you can see what time it is.

Thanks. Would be nice if they added some sort of "key lock" feature where you can simply transpose the fundamental to a specific pitch on the hardware.

To have clear notes a lot would need to change in the drumsynth, or.. maybe a new module with that in mind would be required.
It's tricky because by nature a kick has several notes, it starts high on the transient and ends low, somewhere in between lies the most prominent note but this is sort of subjective, any pitch in between could be considered it's note.
Depending on how you program the kick some can be simple with just a slide between just 2 notes with a really fast transition so the ending one is the clear note but others can have a lot more sliding around pitches + layered sounds/samples, etc…
The easy ones are in the 808'ish realm like the "Sub" engine, if programmed simply like this:
Basically a C on the MIDI Editor (Piano Roll) is a G, but if i add an aggressive "Bend" it will start very high and transition slowly to low, so… whats the note then? Up to you to decide; Melodyne says it's an A… but is it really? 🤷♂️ :
The longer the bend or the shorter the kick the harder it is to tell.
Even on more surgical plugins like Kick2 you can have something ambiguous like so:
Once you get into the more acoustic sounding engines all this gets even more complicated, it's the nature of many percussive instruments.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. I use Kick 2 and Serum in Ableton/Cubase to make tuned percussion. This question was really just aimed at whether or not it was possible to tune the sustain to a pitch for tuned 808 like bass hits using the built-in kick drum module on the Maschine + hardware. I know this is possible on the desktop app, just wanted to know if there was a way to see the note pitch on the hardware in standalone mode.

As an alternative I'd just program a small Kick dedicated patch in Massive, with some macros for the same parameters on the desktop and move it to the M+, this way you have anything you want.
Oh, hold up… You're talking about the full Drum Synth GUI that we can only see in Mixer mode in the software… Then the short answer is: No, it's not possible.
Even as is on the desktop SW it doesn't work 100%, if you change the engine and/or tweak settings enough the note stops showing… :S [Bug?]
Working:
Broken:
I think this is just like the KKS MK2 vs KKS MK3, the new series can show graphics for things oscillators and whatnot, basically its has an new screen rendering architecture that is more fancy than just text values, so imo this is only likely to happen on the next big version, MAS v3 basically…

I read every reply to understand…what the replies were talking about? @Couch_King I personally don't use certain "modules" because the ones that don't show "pitch" in SW I have to ear regardless, and the on HW strictly "values". Use at you r own work flow. Preciate' the post!

When I was Releasing Music Word wide I was reading and I heard something I only understand now .
Still I understand you and it's legit request but .
It's possible to impossible and Credits are full of Historic Names of many Famous Artists I remember as a kid. They didn't put there's names on Device that is not able to do everything and even more.
Do something minimalistic without using all features because everything is simple and Maschine gave us a lot

Yes, this is what I was asking about. I have noticed this breaks when you change the engine. Hopefully NI will fix it in an update.
