NKS Development Discussion

Thanks Mercury you beat me to it. On Windows there is also Preset Magician which can assist with creating NKS and previews some plugins but only VST2.

The last few uploads from Mercury are now sorted into their developer folders in the NKS User Library - these include Tone2 Saurus, Force OB8 and Rob Papen BIT 1 and 2

You could use a Keyboard Maestro custom script controlling Logic Audio or Reaper running Komplete Kontrol followed by LUFS change in Adobe Media Encoder and finally XLD to convert to ogg. Also Komplete Kontrol app with a Keyboard Maestro custom script for saving the presets.

Hi. Audient seem to like giving away free stuff, so yesterday I picked up 'Waldorf Edition 2 LE' and went on a hunt for NKS. This collection comes with three things.
Attack, D-Pole and PPG Wave 2.
I had a quick look in the VST2 legacy folder but didn't find a Waldorf folder, did I miss something or maybe nobody has these particular plugins?
Just curious. Can use them without NKS as they work quite well in Logic with a screen-reader unlike a lot of things, but I always like to find NKS wherever possible.
Thanks for any thoughts.

As far as I'm aware, PPG Wave 2 should come with an installer that installs the NKS support as an option.

@JesterMgee Uvi has just updated Falcon to version 3, AND has reworked the entire preset system.

Is this something that would fit into your update list, or a much bigger job?
Thanks in advance.

I thought they did have NKS actually but like Largo and PPG Wave it only works with the VST2 version

I'm hoping it is at least backwards compatible

I tried it today, the „old“ Falcon 2 NKS Previews are working here on my Mac M1.

Good news!
Downside- more presets to map for the new UI/Macros.
This User NKS never ends!

I like how they tote a new preset browser, then proceed to have a 6KM long page of info showing all the new features other than the new browser!
Presets should all still be backwards compatible since if it breaks NKS presets it would break any DAW project out there using Falcon too (even without KK in the mix).
The changes are all just enhancements and mostly relate to new effects and features for designers and some new browser so existing content does not need any updates, just will likely be some new presets and usually they add a version on the end of presets for new stuff which I filter for and process that way.
The issue will be I now have to figure out how to automate the same things I do with a new browser. I do a lot of tricky automation including detecting the selected folder name and tagging files based on this and also creating the folder structure using the info from the falcon browser so all of that needs to be updated and since i'm about to start processing more UVI instruments it may mean I dont update for a while but I will certainly be looking into it, main thing is for all current content there should be nothing to be concerned about.

Just bought PPG3 because it was on sale. The NKS mapping is actually really good. You can even scroll through the wavetables from the keyboard, which I can't think of any other synth that lets you do that.

Before I waste any more time looking - does anyone know if Fabfilter Twin 3 has already been done somewhere? I can't find it and it seems like the one in the user library is just a placeholder...

Only for VST2, the VST3 is still broken in KK and Fabfilter won't acknowledge it

Seems to be working for me on the new version of Komplete Kontrol (3.0 on M1 Mac). I just did a quick test preset save and was able to recall the preset, map knobs, etc.
