After I’ve gone also with developer version on my Mac, because there was one important program working under these circumstances, that always was hindering me to go that route. Now, a second issue appeared, after going with beta 3… my Traktor DJ software is no longer working. I guess I’m ****** for an undefined period of time. I thought everything will work out properly and so I did no backup before doing this update. Omg. I contacted the NI support immediately with a video showing the problem. Please fix that guys, I can’t downgrade.

I will never go the beta route again in the Mac system, hell!!

I usually stay one MacOS version behind on my studio computer. That is regular version I’m talking about.

I would never install Beta MacOS on my work computer, no matter what.

    But I guess you’ve learned that already…

It took NI almost 10 months to support Sonoma, so there is no chance they will support this in beta status.

You really thought everything will work in a developer build? It is not even the public beta. Btw, there is not Mac OS 18 yet (Will take 3 more years)

Ohhh boy… Installing an beta OS without making a backup. Not a good idea. I hope you learned your lesson.

Of course you can downgrade, but it will be the hard way: Back up all your files - not with Time Machine! You have to do this by hand. Make a clean install of macOS 14.5 Sonoma and set up all from scratch. That is the only way until there is a fix either from NI or Apple.

I wouldn't expect a fix from NI: macOS 15 is in beta status and not officially supported. And they are working on their own big update for Traktor Pro right now. Don't expect any fixes for 3.11.x.

And with Apple maybe they fix it, maybe not. But I am pretty sure they won't fix this on purpose.

I think you can still backup your documents folder and traktor folder (with the samples, etc) to an external drive before you restore to a previous OS

First of all, sorry! I was miss-typing. I meant 15.3 Beta.

So, ofc i made an backup of my NI folder. AND i downgraded via bootable usb stick. tried a bunch of methods, this ended up the only working.

I did this the first time in my life. I did not everything right. At first i thought by this backup the system OS gets overwritten as well. Thats why i did not created a new backup under the "broken" OS. I was wrong by that. :( sad story. BUT no worries, because i have all music outsourced on external drives its not a big deal. The Backup i used was 14 days old, and there were only three changes to make, + replacing the NI folder to make it look as nothing had happened

    *one thing to note,

I downloaded the sonoma from the internet, and not on the appstore, My fault. Because i didnt knew it is found in the applications folder after the download (******! how i could not know, … wayne) Therefore my OS, the Sonoma was after the downgrade also not working properly, not only traktor. It was kind of laggy and all sorts of. Apps were quiting unexpectedly… Because of that i updated again, BUT to the newest Public Beta of Sonoma, now with the system settings updater (official version, so to speak, and not a download from the Internet). Woala, everythings now working fine. Traktor is up to date. But never ever again, i swear, i gonna do that.

Reading through all your different posts and knowing you had installed the Sequoia beta, I would suggest to make a complete clean install. I guess, by installing and re-installling you messed up the guts of macOS.

    Exactly like @maniacintosh81 wrote.
Save all your files on an external drive, erase and format the Mac´s hard drive and make a fresh install of Sonoma 14.5. (NOT a recovery from a backup.)
After installing 14.5, make a backup.

Install and configure all apps from scratch. Traktor, too. You can exchange the collection.tsi with the old one. You will have to re-analyze your tracks. But after all this effort your fresh system will run like a charm.

After installing and configuring your apps, make a backup!

And never ever use beta OS versions on productive machines. All major audio/visual softwares are tested on the final beta (release candidates) and the first official version of a new OS. Actually, audio/visual softwares even tell their users not to update to a new official released major OS version as long they are testing the reliability/stability.
