Lost Projects, Recordings, Sample Files

I'm not exactly sure how this happened but I seem to have lost all of my sample files and the project files they corresponded to. I was attempting to clear disk space on my computer and cleared my entire cache. I've done that before and had no issues, so I'm wondering if they're some other reason why they seem to be gone from my computer. Would clearing the cache delete them? Is there any way to get them back without having Time Machine for Mac turned on?

What do you mean by „clear the cache“? What is your process? What directories are included in that process?

(My first guess is the files are stll there but Maschine needs to rescan your user folders)

by “clearing the cache” I mean deleting all the files stored in the folder: ~/Library/Caches/

I was under the impression that this only delete temporary files.

I can see the project names and sample files in Maschine 2, but get an error message when I try to load a project and a missing file message when I try to load a sample. The corresponding files had always been stored within a Native Instruments folder in my Mac Documents, and while the folder is still there along with the folders for projects, samples, recordings, etc, the folders are all empty and I can’t locate the files anywhere on my computer.

@agdub this doesn’t sound very promising. If your ~/Documents/Native Instruments/Maschine 2/Projects folder is empty, then you must somehow have changed the default location of your user content.

Please check your Maschine > Preferences > Library > User and report here (best would be a screenshot).
