Hello,

I just bought a new computer, per say a MacBookPro with M3 Pro chipset. My OS is macOS Sonoma 14.4.

I have been using my TRAKTOR S4 MK2 controller and Traktor Pro 2 for several years on a Windows computer. This computer is getting old and I would like to make both the controller and Traktor Pro 2 software work on my new Mac computer. Is it possible? When running NativeAccess and after filling both of the Serial numbers (hardware and software), nothing appears in the Library, as if it was not compatible with Mac for download?

Thank you for your help!

Regards

    Hey @nekrolux ,

unfortunately Traktor Pro 2 won't work on modern Macs anymore. Was last supported with macOS 10.14 Mojave as far as I remember. For this reason Native Access doesn't offer this install on Sonoma.

But not all is lost: Kontrol S4 Mk2 is still supported by NI with Traktor Pro 3. As registered owner of Traktor Pro 2 you eligible for a reduced paid upgrade. It is usually 59€ but if you hurry up a little until July 8th this upgrade is reduced at 24.50€.

    Hi guys,

Apparently it had something to do with an updated version of the Controller Editor. Everything works fine now!

Thanks to you all for your help

    Hey @maniacintosh81,

    Thank you for your answer.

You're right I saw the price reduction of the upgrade for Traktor Pro 3. But will buying and installing Traktor Pro 3 on my Mac install all the necessary drivers to make the Kontrol S4 MK2 work? At the time there were two different installations, one for the controller and one for the Traktor Pro software if I recall correctly.

Again, thank you for your help,

    Regards,

There are no device drivers for Kontrol S4 Mk2 on Mac. S4 Mk2 is class compliant and therefore should work on a Mac out of the box.

You can check this in macOS system settings. You should be able to select your S4 as audio input and/or output. Also it should appear in system profiler as audio interface and MIDI device.

As long as it is really a Mk2. A Mk1 will not work with Apple Silicon machines.

Alright so I bought and downloaded Traktor Pro 3. I can play music through my S4 as audio input and/or output. Only problem now is that the setup in Traktor 3 musn't be right, therefore the controller buttons are not lit nor responding. Any clue?

As I don't own a S4 Mk2 myself I have no real clue. With my S4 Mk3 it just works if I connect it to my MacBook Pro. Usually it should be same with Mk2 too. Have you got the Setup Wizard? If not try to run it (again). You'll find it in the settings window down left in the corner.

    Heyo @nekrolux

Can you try with a different usb cable or usb hub, could be a simple connection issue. If its MK2 it should work without an issue.
