Download locations to an external drive

The location I want to use to define a download location is noted in the documention as: Macintosh HD > *username* > Downloads. Since I am not using the download destination as Macintosh HD it is rather, the name of an Seagate external drive. What I want to know is what *username* is being asked for? Is it the computer name, my name, who's name? Sure wished there would be better detailed information in these documents. Oh well, I just want the answer!

That folder is the default downloads folder for MacOS. *username* therefore is your login username for MacOS.

If you want to use another location, just change it to where you want - create a new folder on your SSD called NI Downloads or something, your choice! It doesn't need to be the same structure as the default.

Downloads get cleared from that folder once the product is installed anyway, so it's not all that important. The other two locations (Application and Content) are the ones used for longterm storage.
