Mixing - beatmatching from an external source

Hello,

I would like to beatmatch and mix a song coming from a cdj with a song coming from traktor. I tried to match the BPM of the cdj by tapping in the master control panel of traktor and select it as a master tempo, after that I sync the traktor deck to the bpm of the control panel but anyway the deck song is not in sync with the CDJ. Is the procedure correct ?

    I would beatmatch like you have two CDJs. Roughly match the temp by looking at the BPM value .. or by ear. Then tap cue to the beat and hit play on the downbeat. Adjust with jog to exact position. Maybe fine adjust bpm.
