Why do we need to download gigabytes worth of data to just update the version number?

So I'm showing East Asia, JC Audience Choir, Retro Machines 2, Sequis, Session Bassist - Prime Bass, and Session Strings Pro 2 all have updates that just fix displayed version number. Is it really necessary to download over 80 gigabytes of data for this? That's ridiculous!

Needless to say, I haven't done it, but am I missing something here?

Yes. The downloading of the full 80 GB was how it was previously before that the N.A. team introduced Slim Content tech.

Quote Hayo_NI Product Team February 28 , 2024 : We're rolling slim content out for expansions. This could display an incorrect need to reinstall the entire product, though we're looking into what else might be causing this visual glitch.

So , generally then when it works then it ought not download it all again. What it does is that it starts to download in the sense of checking and verifying and while doing that it will show that it needs to download the the full amount of GB and then suddenly it switch to show to only need to download a little and to be finished rather soon (all depending on how much actually needs to be updated of course). To the extend that what you experience is considered a 'visual glitch' only by Hayo_NI then apparently it has a rather low priority to fix the visual.

Yeah, you're missing that the update takes about a minute or two on each one. Maybe doing an update would be better than complaining about something that doesn't exist.

The Slim Content thing doesn't appear to be working for me. Native Access is downloading the whole payload for these updates.

It appears someone's comments were a bit premature, DD.
