Storage full with over 200GB of space & invalid path

I have well over 200GB of disk space available on my computer. I am trying to download Electric Vintage but I keep getting the pop up:

'Insufficient disk space to download or install'

Surely 200GB of free space is more than enough given this plugin only takes up 8.5GB after the download is completed.

Have also tried downloading to a External Hard drive but keep getting an error pop up stating the installation path is invalid.

Please advise on what I should do.
