Can I control Maschine+ with Pro Tools?

Id like to control Maschine+ with Pro Tools so I can record the sounds on tracks in Pro Tools. I have Maschine 2 in my iOS Applications and can pull it up as a plugin, but it doesn't control Maschine+. Is it possible to switch from Maschine 2 to Maschine+ in Pro Tools software?

AFAIK: If the M+ is running in standalone mode, it will not communicate over the USB B port to the computer (because it acts as host like the computer). You would need to connect audio cables from the M+ stereo line output to two input channels of the Focusrite Clarett which then can be heard over your monitors and recoreded in Pro Tools like any other instrument.

    What exactly do you want:

    1. Run Maschine Plus in standalone and trigger sounds on it from Pro Tools, and record the output of the M+ in Pro Tools.
    2. Use Maschine Plus as Controller for the Maschine 2 plugin within Pro Tools.

And why do you mention iOS?

Both of these are exactly what I want:

    1. To run Maschine Plus in standalone and trigger sounds on it from Pro Tools, and record the output of the M+ in Pro Tools.
    2. To use Maschine Plus as Controller for the Maschine 2 plugin within Pro Tools.

I mentioned iOS because I use MacPro Apple computer.

The two mentioned options are exclusive alternatives. You can do either one or the other, but not both at the same time. That’s why I asked. And you cannot control the M+ with the Maschine 2 plugin - instead the M+ in controller mode acts as controller for the software.

iOS is the operating system for Apple’s portable devices, MacPro runs on macOS. Which makes a huge difference when it comes to compatibility questions.

Thank so much Ozone! This gives me a lot to go on. I'm still at a loss for how to set it up, because what I've followed and tried hasn't produced and sound. I press my piano and see light going off on Maschine Plus, but no sound or midi is noticed in Pro Tools. How can I fix that?

    what I've followed and tried

Exactly what did you "follow and try"? A video (which?)? A book (which?)? A web site (which?)?

    my piano

What piano? Make and model. How is it connected, and to what is it connected?

    see light

    What light?

How do you have everything connected together? In what order, with what cables?

The lights are on the pads when I press the keys of my Williams Allegro III 88 keys piano.

    My current set up is:
    1. Allegro III into Maschine+ + USB into lower A
    2. Maschine USB into a USB port, then into the computer
    3. Maschine 2 in my DAW from using in with my old Maschine MIKRO, which doesn't seem to be connected to Maschine+
    4. I have headphones connected to Maschine+, but would like to listen through the same amp I have plugged to my computer, Focusrite ClarettII Thunderbolt

I learned that from YouTube. My problem now is connecting Pro Tools input to Maschine plus's output. How do I do that and save it?

I‘m not a Pro Tools user, but I guess there’s some kind of „Studio Setup“ configuration settings where you can set up all sorts of routings and save it as preset which then will be used by PT on every start up.

At least that’s how it’s done in Cubase.
