Traktor s4 - Headphones not working
I have Traktor s4 Mk1 running Traktor Pro 2. I recently set up my console after not using it for a while and I have had a lot of trouble routing the audio signal and getting any signal through the headphones.
I have a Komplete Audio 6 Soundcard, pc and Rane 57SL that I use with Traktor.
The way I had it set up was Traktor connected to the PC via USB so that the software can talk to the console.
I had the audio out RCA from Traktor to the Rane 57SL AUX input so I could listen to the master through my QSCs plugged into the Rane.
I have updated the drivers and d/l the latest updates from the NI Native Access console.
I have tested multiple sets of headphones.
I can get a signal to the Komplete Audio 6 soundcard and, using/assigning the ASIO driver in Traktor, I can hear a very faint bleed through in the headphones but I can't get the monitor option to route proper audio to the headphones no matter which way I configure the output routing setup. The overall master level seems quite low but really, without being able to use the headphones on the Traktor console it's not much use to anyone!
I tried NI Support and to be honest it's been three weeks back and forth and the guy I have speaking to Asked me for screenshots (I sent them one the first message) and now just suggested I try pressing the Cue button! Pretty much a waste of time!
Is there a simple way I can just setup Traktor to test if the headphone jack is busted, or whether it's a driver issue, a firmware/software update issue, or a PEBCAK issue?
I have 100% had this setup working in the past even with my limited technical knowledge. How hard can it be??

Have you already tried a minimal setup? Just the s4 with headphone directly connected, without Rane 57SL or Komplete Audio 6?
And cue/mix turned all the way to cue.

Thanks lord-carlos.
Yeah so the Traktor console is plugged directly into my PC via USB A-B cable provided and I have tried the cue mix in all positions.
It's crazy because it definitely was working before but after pulling down my studio and resetting it doesn't seem to work and I cannot figure it out.NI "tech support" are now asking:
We would kindly ask you to send us a video replicating the issue,
filming your physical connections, as well as going through all the
Traktor preferences tabs. This way we will get a broad idea of the
problem at hand.
Their "solutions" have been basically to keep asking me for screen shots (when I've already provided them), give me one line answers of stuff I've already told them I've tried, asking what my "ideal" set up is (???), and generally making the whole process as drawn out and tedious as possible. I undestand I have an old legacy bit of gear, and it isn't in their interests to support old stuff. I actually think their objective is to make it so difficult I will give up and buy a new console. It def won't be NI that's for sure.0 -

But did you also connect the headphones to the s4 directly? Ignoring all other audio devices for now.

If you have the audio device set to s4, the output is routed directly to the s4 hardware output. In that case, you have to plug the headphones into the s4, no way around it. Unless you route the headphones out jack to another (mixer or interface) input and go from there.
You could try to aggregate the different soundcards (others are more knowledgable how) and then select the aggregate as the audio device. This will lead to having a lot more output options than just those of the s4.

Sorry yes to clarify the headphones are always plugged directly into the s4.
If I can get the s4 working independently I can probably sort the rest out.My issue is that the headphone jack on the s4 is not working. Like I said you can hear the faintest of bleedthrough, so I am confident there is signal, but it really shouldn't be this difficult. I wonder if the headphone jack has loose solder or something similar.

My gut says it's a hardware fault.
The settings in the screenshot all look legit.
The last thing you can try is to mess around with the software knobs for cue/mix and headphone volume
But it could also be that those don't work because it's all hardware controlled on the s4. I don't know.
—.All that talk about the audio 6, QSCs and rane was very confusing. Probably also for support.0
