can I adda second location on a partitioned ssd drive to my komplete 14 ultimate
so following 3 days of continuous download im so close to having my first ever komplete library on a dedicated Mac . I have however come to a point where I have approx 60 gb left to install but my 750 g partition is close to full now . I have an additional 2.5 t on my system but the drive is partitioned . this might be a simple fix but I would just like to add a second path for the remaining libraries but when I do am I changing where this first library will be searched for or is it possible to simply give native instrument ,Ableton ,reaper etc a second location which it will search without my having to switch between these two locations every time I want to load different items ? any help is greatly appreciated . sorry if its a obvious question

Hi @databass How is your Mac Formatted? AFAIK APFS doesn't have partitions, but containers.
If Im understanding you correctly, you shouldn't have any problems when you want to load items from different locations. Perhaps if I put it this way. Im on Logic, I have an NI library installed on the internal drive and the rest of the content on an external drive. I dont have any problems loading anything.

hey jojo,
thanks a lot for both your responses .yr 100% correct about download servers etc . there was nobody else on my network and a Flac file from Bandcamp takes seconds to download . surely they could do some p2p type fix for download of large libraries . anyhow im good now , super close to komplete . sorry I didnt really explain my system very clearly . my drives are format as apfs .as you said they aren't actual partitions I really just mean the internal drives are different sizes and separate from one another m2 MacBook Pro with a 750 g flash drive and a 2 tb ssd + 500 gb ssd . the flash drive has my ni library but has only 10 g left now . my system is running on the 500 gb drive and the remaining drive is for music projects and I would like to put the remaining ni library on that . so just let me double check my understanding . in na I open preferences /file management . my application location remains the same . my download location remains the same but I simply add another content location users/shared in my second location ? am I correct ? so I guess to explain my worry better is changing this content folder is simply saying where I want my library to live and wont cause ni to search only this new location for my library . . im sorry im not sure I made that any clearer but the fact that you told me you have done it already gives me confidence that it can be done and will be ok . again thanks for your response much appreciated

Im not at my Mac right now, and Im still on NA1 and will remain so until I see an improvement with the new version. That said Im totally unfamiliar with NA2 and beyond. However it should still be the same as far as paths to files etc. So again, if Im understanding your point, yes, my experience is that you can have your libraries installed on different drives and there should be no problems with NA finding it.
Im not sure what you mean by a flash drive? Are you saying this is just an external SDD or?? - 10 GB is cutting it very fine for free space.
