Kontrol X1 MK3: How to identify hardware revisions

I own two X1 MK3 units witch I purchased seperatly. The 1st unit purchased in september 2023 Q3, the 2nd unit in may 2024.

The 2nd unit has better browse and loop encoders with more tactile feel just like the previous X1 models. So it looks like the X1 MK3 has been revised.

I'm considering buying a 3rd unit to replace the 1st unit which has the less tactile encoders.
But I don't want to end up with a, leftover stock, older revision unit with the old encoders.

As there is no model or revision number on the unit or the box, how can I make sure I purchase the newer revision?

If I order directly from NI do I get the latest revision?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

If there a really different batches I guess ordering from NI will give you the greatest potential to get one of the newer models. But it could be that there are no official distinguishable revisions. Could be different suppliers for the same part or even tolerances in used parts. Even if there was a change in used parts it must not reflect in a new marked revision. Looking on the packaging of one of my NI controllers doesn't reveal an obvious hardware revision. But I don't own a X1 Mk3 just older NI controllers at this time.

    Interesting.

Are the pods the same? I mean the one from the first batch have a huge deadzone in the center + the indent.

Thanks, I know parts can change, I was just hoping there would be some sort of indication. I guess there won't be a way to tell, at least not in advance. Ordering at NI would indeed be my best chance.

I can't find any notable difference, pods have the same deadzone on both units.
