Am I allowed to share my Komplete Ultimate with my friend?

    NO !

    Quote ADDITIONAL INFO :

All products included within a single edition of a KOMPLETE 14 bundle are part of one user license and can only be used as a single entity. A maximum of three installations on three machines are allowed as long as only one installation is used at any given time. The individual products cannot be resold separately.

    Ref. : Quote : END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT , section : 3.3

Licensee may install and personally use the licensed software on three devices (e.g. one computer, one laptop, one workstation), provided that the said software is used only on one device regularly. Simultaneous use on more than one hardware device is not permitted. The Products may not be used on a network by multiple users, unless each user possesses a license. In case Licensee changes the hardware, all software on the hardware used must be deleted.

    P.S.

There are free stuff that your friend can use, e.g. : N.I. Komplete Start , Arturia Analog Lab Play , IK Multimedia free CS versions , SpitfireAudio (keep scrolling) , Crow Hill and U-HE (scroll down until the free shows) .

(Thank you at SimChris , I took his mentions below and added links)

No, software is not ideal for newer producers looking to save money as it’s mostly been increasing in price or requiring subscription. Your best bet is to take the money and buy 2 MPCs and start building your own sound library that you can load on both devices. There are plenty of sample libraries from the 2000s for purchase over ebay on CD or on the internet from independent producers. You could also buy a few older workstations with pre-loaded sounds, but the footprint will be larger.

Your friend can use all the free versions of Komplete instruments, which are quite a few. Add on free instruments from U-HE, Crow Hill, Spitfire, etc., and you have more than enough to do great work when starting out, or just trying to be budget-friendly.

Generally you cannot share stuff like software or cable subscription :)
