Maschine+ with USB power bank
Hello,
Newbie question: can I run my Maschine+ with a standard power bank using one of the USB ports of the Maschine+?
Thank you!

Please do not advice to underpower the Maschine+. Users who do not power their M+ properly are experiencing random crashes and odd behaviour. It needs 15V @ 2.66 A. This can be achieved with a PD (USB Power Delivery) trigger cable and a power bank with sufficient power rating to offer PD 2.0 on a USB-C port.

No, they are USB outputs not power supply inputs. Maschine+ requires 15vDC @ 2 Amps (about 40 watts)
I believe some folk have been able to use 12v to power it which would make it possible to use a 12v battery. One such power pack I have for powering devices such as sound recorders and cameras is this one:
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00ME3ZH7C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
However when I purchased this in 2019 it was only $60aud and I have 2 of these.

Thanks a lot, team, super helpful!
Just to close the loop, I went ahead and ordered the SongbirdFX cable AlexBuga recommended:
Works like a dream with the strong power bank im using (a Xiaomi with 20kmah and 45 watts).
Such a nice, simple setup, I love it.
Service was splendid, simple order process, the cable arrived within a few days, even to Bangkok.
Thanks a lot everyone!

Feel free to check out our dedicated blog article regarding Maschine Plus accessories, lots of useful information in there:

According to the technical information, it should work using the DC port and setting the power bank to 15V output. You still need to make sure the polarity and whether the plug will properly fit the DC socket on your M+.
Personally, I’d prefer a solution with USB-C/PD2.0 and a 15V trigger cable because then you won’t have to worry about setting the power bank to deliver the proper voltage.

Thank you for the reply!
Can you maybe recommend me one with the right cable?
I don't want to break my M+😂

There’s more information in that thread as well. My setup is on the costly side because a) I chose the powerbank to suit other power requirements as well and b) before trigger cables became widely available.
The solution posted by @AlexBuga seems to be working and cost effective alternative.
Hope you find something that suits your needs. Being independent from a power socket is the best upgrade for your M+ experience.

The battery part is easy, it just needs to be one that supports PD/QC3. I've owned three of these for different purposes and really like them for my M+:
INIU Portable Charger, 22.5W 20000mAh USB C in & Out Power Bank Fast Charging, PD 3.0+QC 4.0 LED Display Phone Battery Pack Compatible with iPhone 14 13 12 Pro Samsung S21 Google LG iPad Tablet, etc. https://a.co/d/6t0CokU
(20000 mA lasts for several hours of operation for me so I end up charging it once a week to be safe.)
I really like the BirdCord cable. So reliable in the fact that I hardly ever bother plugging it in to AC anymore.

One small caveat: I always unplug the Bird cable and battery from the M+ when not in use. For some reason it continues to draw slightly on the battery and eventually run down otherwise.
Throw in one of these Anker 30W speakers using a 3.5mm audio cable that comes with it (i.e NOT using the BT) and you effectively have a battery-powered standalone M+ with great speakers all in a fairly compact package. That's what I use on the weekends sitting out on the patio and enjoying our amazing California weather.
Good luck! I love this combo...

Hi Peter,
And thanks a lot for your advice and answer !
I will definitively buy BirdCord from your advice, seems the right transformer for maschine+
For Battery PowerBank with Power Delivery, I will try to check out one, if I understood well it just need at least that power bank has a minimum of deliver of 15v with USB C right ? (otherwise if it's too low, birdcord will convert it to 5volt and will be to less for Maschine+)
Thanks again !
