Native Access 2: Terrible Download Program since version 3.11.0

Native Access is becoming a painful program. I have this installed on Windows 10 and Windows 11, but in 90% of the time it does not start up like it used to do. This is since the upgrade to version 3.11.0. It keeps asking about dependencies, asks for authorisation and fails to do so until you restart your Laptop/PC and when it starts it often sits and waits to loads my products (forever till you restart the program).

I guess this is just bad programming to make it "safer" because NI's products can not be loaded anymore. And why this program needs to be upgraded so often is also a riddle to me.

Do your work Native instruments, and make your products more stable before releasing it.
Especially Komplete Control, which used to be a convenient program but needs update every two weeks and before using it again it has to discover all plugins over and over again which costs more than a half hour to make this one work again in your DAW or stand-alone. A handy program but not this way.

Please take a look at Native Access and make it fast and workable again like the first version when it came out. A portal program has to work ALL the time and not 10% of the time.

Please see other comments regarding the slow or not working Native Acces program. I am glad that on one system I still have Native Access version 1. That never has a problem and starts very fast!

With kind regards,

Geert Jonkheer

You are right that you ought not have all these issues. But those in charge mostly rely on N.I. support to sift through it all so you ought to report it all to N.I. Native Access and Installation Support

At the page N.I. Native Access and Installation Support be sure to scroll down to page bottom to see if there is a log-in request , if there is then log-in , at next page again scroll down and small blue chat box ought occur within 15 seconds. Then write in chat box and when getting suggestions then select did not help when it didn't , that ought to bring you on to either chat with human or open a ticket. (You need to use a browser with Cookie , Security and Extensions settings that will allow for log-in on the page for the page to work)

There has been introduced chat support for Native Access assistance (at least daytime on normal work days) :

Please refer to the page : How to get in touch with our Customer Care

If you update NA and it hangs at "loading products" during its attempt to restart itself, then this power tip might be for you:

This is for Windows 10 and 11. I don't know if behavior is the same on Mac, but who knows…you might try it anyway if you get the same behavior. Anyway, here goes:

I never have trouble with Native Access actually completing its own self-download and self-update, but AFTER the update, it tries to start the just-installed new version of NA, and it gives a message saying it is "loading products", but it will stay on that screen and do nothing for long periods of time. I have over 900 "things" that get loaded into NA, and it NEVER takes 5 minutes, EXCEPT during the post-update restart.

I suppose I could go take a nap and come back to see if it ever finishes, but usually I'm just too impatient, and after 2 to 3 minutes I'll just hit the "X close" button on the upper right to close the app window.

Then I count to 5 (to give Windows a chance to shut down any stray services or processes), and I restart Native Access. It always starts normally this way, and after a minute or two, it will finish loading all 900+ of my products and I'm off to the races.

So try this. I suspect it's less of a Native Access problem and maybe more of an OS or services/processes problem.

——————The above ^ issue is the ONLY problem I have ever experienced with NA for the last 3 or 4 patch versions. So just do this thing and see if it works for you. We need to be on the most current version of NA, because there are things it does for us (or will soon do) that the older versions can't do.Good luck!
