Traktor Audio 10 1/4” MIC input socket balanced or unbalanced?
Is Traktor Audio 10 1/4” MIC input socket balanced or unbalanced? I could not find this information in the user manual. Thank you.

The mic INPUT on virtually every professional device will work best with a female XLR to TS cable. They are an unbalanced connection, but is then split to both left and right inside the soundcard or software so that it comes through both sides of a stereo bus.

But with reduction from XLR to TS, the advantage of a balanced XLR cable over an unbalanced cable is then lost. For balanced connecton you need TRS.

I'm sorry, but to be brutally honest if you're expecting the quality of that mic pre to be "improved" by balancing your mic signal over the very short distance between mic and TA10 … well … good luck hearing it.
Best bet is to grab one of each cable, record them, and get back to us :)
