Yeah it was a lot of rather boring and laborious work over 3 weeks because it's a terrible plugin to navigate through.

You will need to update your version. Latest version showing on the IK site was updated in 2020, v2.0.6 so you will need to be running that version. If you are running in Rosetta to use the VST2 version, that will not work as the library was developed using VST3 so in Rosetta mode you would still need the VST3 version.

I can only develop the library and NKS files should work with the plugin no matter if it is Windows, Mac, Intel or M1 since NKS just calls the plugin and loads the plugin state. Compatibility with a system is down to the plugin developer and I would assume someone as large as IK charging what they do for their plugins would have it updated to support M1 macs, however no idea because their specs state Intel mac and I do not have an M1 mac or plans to purchase one any time soon so maybe not which means it was likely a huge waste of time. I may have to look at making the SampleTank version but honestly, if I cannot convert the current NKS files to work I will likely never do this one over for SampleTank, I find IK instruments rather frustrating.

So on further investigation, my suspicions are confirmed and it makes me dislike IK more than I do already for their very flakey products and poor support.

The Philharmonic plugin is only compatible under Rosetta, it should work with the library using Rosetta and the VST3 version with the latest version but I don't know if they will bother updating it since the Philharmonic library also works in SampleTank 4 which is native M1 supported.

I have done a quick test and a poke around in the code and the NKS files will not migrate over to load in SampleTank however the interface and structure in SampleTank is far easier to work in than the Philharmonic dedicated plugin, downside is it offers WAY less information in regards to tagging the files as it doesn't even have info for Ensembles and simply has everything in a single bucket such as "Brass" which I have to filter into the correct instruments and of course, that is further complicated by the use of a load of abbreviations for instrument names so like everything they do, it's a mess. It also appears to not offer any of the Philharmonic 1 patches in SampleTank (at least no reference is made) and this is 1500 instruments it skips over so that is a huge loss.

I'll add it to the todo list, only way I will tackle that is if I have expressed interest because as you can probably tell, IK is not my most favourite batch of plugins to work with because under the hood they are not as nice or as capable as they appear to be and there are a lot of bugs to work around.

Just as an example of yet another problem I find literally just now, scanning the presets I find they have incorrectly tagged many under the wrong section. Strings should not be listed under Brass! Not to mention for some reason I have duplicates of every preset for this library for no known reason. Ugh, terrible products!!!
