it turns out you can remote into your desktop/workstation and have your Maschine controllers connected to a phone… and the Maschine software will stream audio to your phone, essentially making everything portable, …requires a USB-C hub preferably with PD so the controllers can be powered&charged simultaneously!

the phone has 2 peices of software running to remotely access your desktopPC or Mac (that is running Maschine or your Daw of choice or whatever!)…

splashtop personalFree provides a remote connection on a local network where both phone and desktop shares the same network/wifi (audio&video is streamed to phone)

splashtop personal paid provides external network access… ie over the internet/mobile networks etc (audio&video is streamed to phone)

Virtualhere needs to be purchased and installed on a android based phone(S20 series samsung), virtualhere creates a virtual USBserver which connects across the internet to the remote desktop which has the virtualhere client on… provided the client desktop can run the USB device if it were physically connected, it should in most cases connect as normal…

now it should be obvious there will be latency over any network, the practicality of connecting remotely is the real question…..

perhaps suited to just realtime mixing&mashing of ready made projects, or step sequencing on a maschine Jam… but definately not a realtime input scenario for a keyboardist or drummer….

Given the nature of the small samsung phones-screen this also maynot seem practical…. however with the Xreal Glasses& samsung Dex, this brings a element of seeing your desktop directly in front of you, with a 40inch screen…

unfortunately the test for running the Xreal glasses on a USB-C hub with Maschine controllers in conjunction with the Xreal's is something i havent been able to confirm as working… but there is no reason why it wouldnt, its only a matter of finding the correct hub that will support Usb-c 3.1 gen2 ..10gbs
