How to integrate Maschine with Ableton? (m32 and Maschine Plus)
Hi Community,
i own the following things
- Maschine Plus
- M32 Komplete Keyboard
- Ableton Standard
The story is the following:
I started with the Maschine Plus, got used to the workflow. Everything fine.
Then i decided to rather run the machine in controller mode at home, connected to a Macbook. Even better !
I bought the M32, tested Komplete Kontrol - WOW!
But then i asked myself "How can i bring these 2 things together ? I think i need a DAW" and i bought Ableton Standard.
In Ableton, Komplete works just fine. No problem. But Maschine is a bit of a pain. I need a lot of manual routing per channel and its still not 100%. Isn't there a way to fully integrate Maschine in Ableton (or another DAW) so that i can record from machine right into ableton per midi ? Some Plugin/Template ? Or am i on the right path, and the routing setup is standard ?
Regards,
Adrian

@machinamagica There's no real integration between Maschine and Ableton in these aspects. We have a few articles covering these topics:
How to Route MASCHINE 2 Sounds to Separate Audio Tracks in Ableton Live [VIDEO]
Triggering MASCHINE Drum Kits from Ableton Live
Triggering MASCHINE Instruments from MIDI Tracks in Ableton Live
Triggering MASCHINE Scenes with MIDI Notes in Your DAW
The best solution would be to create templates both in Ableton and in Maschine so you don't have to do the routing.
Hopefully some users out there can help with tips or have different workflows. I'll edit the title and move this thread to the Maschine section on the forum, maybe more people will chime in.
For other Maschine controllers, mostly the MK3, we also provide templates to integrate more with Ableton (mostly transport and a few other functions, nothing to do with midi or audio routing) but unfortunately we don't provide this for the Maschine Plus, although there are user made third party templates available.

The mk3 template should work for the Maschine Plus though, yes?
It's the same thing internally when using it as a controller.

@PK The DJ Unfortunately the remote script for the MK3 does not work with the Maschine Plus.

Something to do with the PID over USB?
