How can I fix "Installation failed. Review your location preferences"? for downloads

My external hard drive died, so I'm trying to start from scratch. I had some backups on another SSD and copied those to the new hard drive in APFS format. I still have to download a bunch more stuff, but NA2 won't let me download ANYTHING, even when I set the locations to the defaults. It just gives me the "installation failed" message. Meanwhile, the libraries I copied to the hard drive just appear with an exclamation point next to them, so they don't even have an installation option. I've followed pretty much everything I've found on here, and no luck.

This is obviously super upsetting, because I rely on this stuff for all my projects. I basically can't make music right now because of this.

Did you double check the full disk access for ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon ?

Else then first delete everything from downloads folder then try completely removing anything N.A. from from the computer and all the product XML files My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access , especially '2. Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activation tokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files'

Then restart computer Re-download N.A. and re-install and give full disk access to all again and log in again to see if that helped , How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

Also make sure that you do not have drive problems with too little space on system drive (temp) , download drive and content drive .

Also check for lack of space for other reasons like e.g. :

reffahcs 2024-03-07 (instruction screenshots included in the original post !)

Check with Disk Utility to see if you have any snapshots that are taking up space.

You'll have to enable show snapshots first though if you haven't already.

You can also verify this by going to the terminal and typing du -H

Or advance drive problems like this one here !

Thanks. Everything has full access and there's plenty of space on the hard drive. I ultimately just downgraded to Native Access v1 and it let me do everything fine. Almost every library is installed now. However, there are still some libraries that only offer the RELOCATE option and not the REINSTALL option. For this, I'm still at a loss.

you need to contact N.I. Native Access and Installation Support , using N.A. 1 is a recipe for problems in the long run ! (stuff that don't show or don't update correctly !)

I will copy my answer from the other discussion to you here also :

Since there are reasons for why this occurs with e.g. third-party libraries then you are being far to not specific !

Which libraries are you referring to ? If this is about a N.I. library did you then check N.A. tab 'available' to see if the library were available for installation ?

If your problem is concerning third-party libraries then please take a look at the following help articles :
