Hello,

I have an APC 40 MKII and would like to buy a MASCHINE+

Would it be possible to use the APC40 MKII coupled with MASCHINE+ without a computer, as it is possible to do with MASCHINE JAM

Thanks

It should be possible, since it doesn’t require any driver.

Be aware that you can’t use the APC40 MKII as you use a Jam. Not all functions are mappable. One for all worth naming (since it seems the most obvious use for it with Maschine) you can’t have the buttons grid of the APC40 MKII launching the different patterns like the Jam does, since they are not mappable (that’s valid also for the desktop version of Maschine software).

You can midi map Scenes, Lock States and Sections, but not Patterns. Don’t ask me why, cause frankly I don’t know (well…I have an idea…but still don’t understand it…)

Standalone MIDI mapping is much requested, but still not possible on the M+ (as far as I know).

External keyboards and pads is possible, please see (advanced configuration):

Furthermore there’s a 3-part video tutorial on ‘how to use everything on Maschine’, which also includes a section on using external pad devices for triggering pads.

And… I just stumbled upon this video about preparing a project on your computer and using mapped faders for mixer control and import that to the Plus… looks promising, but didn’t test this procedure myself:
