Wont Sequence Automation input From External Knob (pics included)

1. The external knob controls the software parameters just fine - I manually turn the knob on the external gear and the knob(s) in Maschine turn(s) as well but...
2. The knob movement/automation is not sequenced
3. I've selected REC - I've selected AUTO - I tried both at the same time...nada.
4. If I use the knob on the MK3 it sequences the automation just fine.

Yep. You cannot record automation using an external controller. It's one of the long-running feature complaints around here
