how do I change the default layout

Double click the Deck Header until it is maximized or check your Preferences --> Deck Layout and change the deck size from there.

I think this is library view? Toggle with space bar.

Check the browser button. This is just minimized decks issue since the browser button is not enabled (glowing blue)
