Sampling bass amp thru mixer/interface to MK3
Hey all, so i'm trying to sample my bass amp head but i can't seem to see any signal. For reference, my signal chain goes as such: bass head> mixer/interface> line inputs 1+2 on MK3. I'm in detect mode for sampling and i'm not seeing signal on my MK3 screen. For my audio settings my device is set to my mixer/interface. I want to be able to hear what i am playing on my MK3 without having to record and listen to playback. Also, where should my headphones be plugged in? My laptop or my MK3? I don't want to plug it into my mixer/interface because i want to run FX over my samples and i'm only gonna hear my dry signal if i have it plugged into my mixer/interface (I could be wrong about anything here so if i am please help)

Why send the signal to an interface/mixer(?) and then to the MK3 Inputs (aka another interface)?
For my audio settings my device is set to my mixer/interface.
If you set the device as your mixer/interface then the MK3-Interface is not being used at all, so theres no point plugging anything into it's input...
Also, where should my headphones be plugged in? My laptop or my MK3?
You need to decide wich interface you want to use and plug both your Bass output to and your headphones to that one. Fix this before moving on to hearing the signal with FX.

The reason i have my bass head plugged into the mixer then the MK3 is because i want to plug in microphones into 2 other channels on my mixer. My idea was to be able to record bass, guitar, and vocals and pass all of them thru my MK3 into my DAW without having to go back and forth plugging and unplugging each of them from my MK3 and have FX or a plugin for any one of those tracks. Is there a way to do that or would i only be able to have one plugged in at a time?

Or would i just have to send the FX/plugins from my MK3 into my mixer/interface to my DAW?

What kind of mixer do you have? Does it have USB Audio? If it does you can skip the MK3 interface entirely.
If it doesn't then your plan of 1 mixer + mk3 interface sounds good, just send the mixer master out into the MK3-Interface and have the latter selected as your active audio interface in Maschine/DAW.
Nah, that complicates things.
Are you planning on using Maschine-Plugin in your DAW during the whole production/recording process? If so that's the reason you were not getting any signal, while hosted in a DAW Plugins do not have direct access to Inputs, in most DAW's you have to create an Audio Track and send it to MAS-plug as a sidechain.
Which DAW do you have?

So i guess for starters i kinda just wanna send a beat to my mixer which is a Yamaha MG-10XUF and has USB out and then worry about sending it to a DAW which i have both FL studio and Pro tools. What would be the best way to do that?

Basically what i'm trying to say is how can i get sounds from my MK3 into my mixing console into pro tools?

Or how can i just send sounds from MK3 into my yamaha mixer if i didn't even wanna use a daw?

Okay i actually figired it out, had to go into my settings and in the output section, assign the line out L+R to port 1&2. And i get how to drag+ drop wav files into my DAW so i think i'm good for now. Thank you @D-One
