Cannot use Cubase Pro and Dorico Pro at the same

Aloha,

I have a new Komplete A-49 which I really am loving, except I cannot operate both Dorico Pro 5 and Cubase Pro 12 at the same time. Either one by themselves is fine but if I have one open then start the other, one of them will not function (no input). I then have to restart the computer to regain functionality of the audio engine. At no time have I been able to use both. Any ideas about why this is happening?

Thanks in advance,

This will most probably be because the MIDI driver for the A-49 is a single client driver. Therefore you can only write to one source at a time, be it Cubase or Dorico. I don't believe that multi client drivers are available for a lot of kit even though many have been wanting these for a long time.

It's a rather unusual scenario to be running two DAWs at the same time.

    Is this any use? https://hautetechnique.com/midi/midisplit/
