Kontrol Z2 channel fader curve
I would like to be able to change the cutoff curve when I use analog vinyls for scratching, but also when I use software traktor.
How do I change the cutoff curve for both modes (analog/digital)?
Is there an instruction guide I can follow?
Thank you all

Heyo!
This is not really possible in Traktor, as you might know the only adjustable feature for each channel would be the EQ and Filter adjustments.
It is a bit complex since its not a really common suggestion but I would encourage you to experiment with these parameters!

Creating different curve types is possible with modifiers but nobody made any instructions for it yet. Might need to add this to my tools section.
Idea is to divide the fader range into several different sections where each section is changing the modifier value as you turn a knob or slide a fader. It really depends on what kind of curve would you like to create but once modifiers are set then you can use fader/relative message type to determine the speed of each section of the fader.
Z2 faders wont accept button type of commands (which modifiers are) so for this to work you will need to map a global midi knob and use it to output the fader value into a modifier input command.
Global midi knob overrides native control for Volume Adjust and everything is happening inside Midi.2 -
You beat me to it. The faderFX of the F1 TEKKEN mapping sprung to my mind right away, all using modifiers and then adding value changes of the parameters with varying percentages over the modifier range.

Here is original thread about basic of this modifier concept.

Thanks for digging out that one from of the treasure trove. 👍

you can set the channel faders to logarithmic/linear using the calibration in Traktor settings, open settings window / traktor Z2 / Recalibrate Faders, move both faders down and press OK, then move both faders just a bit up and press OK. but it only works in Traktor, you would have to use the live inputs to have the same setting. wont work in Z2 standalone analog mode.

So, you can deliberately de-calibrate your controls. I've never thought of that. Thanks. 😁
