I can't download Factory Library because there is no folder by this name at the SSD destination

Thank you LostinFoundation and BIF for your support. For some extraordinary reason, in the last few hours things appear to have 'righted' themselves spontaneously. I am now the happy 'owner' of K Factory Library 2 and a couple of other installed instruments. It is simply fantastic to know that you are out there. Next time you're in Canberra send me a message and the drinks are on me.0

Windows or Mac, and which version?
Factory library, or factory library 2?
How are you addressing the external SSD? For example, by a drive letter or by a name?
How is the external SSD connected to the computer you're installing the library to?
How is the external SSD formatted, and how big is it?
Are there other Native Instruments libraries already installed on this external SSD?
What does Native Access say is the location for the library?

Thank you so much for helping me, BIF. I use a MacBook Pro OS Monterey 12.3.1, M1 Pro chip. I already have Factory library installed and I am trying to instal Factory Library 2. I have named the SSD 'Two'. It is connected by a lightning connector. It is 5TB. It has many other NI libraries on it. - I have just upgraded to the latest Komplete. It was 'Queued' but has now disappeared and I will try to download it again and fill in the remaining Native Access information. Once again - many thanks!0

While it is downloading, I can see that the Native Access download location in Preferences is /Volumes/Two/NI Komplete.0

Do your other NI instruments work okay on this laptop with this same SSD?

Lightning connector? That’s for iPhones/iPads
In native Access check also the designed Libraries and Applications folders. The one for Downloads is “momentary’: once the library gets installed, the downloaded files will be automatically deleted.
In any case, try to open Kontakt: if you see Factory Library 2 there and it loads instruments with this kind of graphics, it means the installation worked

The message during the download says 'In order to finish installation please locate Kontakt Factory 2 Library folder on your system. It offers me /Volumes/Two/NI Komplete. When I click on this, it opens a window which has Kontakt_Factory_Library 2.iso and Kontakt_Factory_Library 2.iso.aria2 greyed out. Previously I have clicked on the .iso and seen the library appear as a 'disk' on my desktop. When I click on this disk my computer then says that it won't open it because of a security issue. I can't remember the exact words - I'll have to wait for the download to finish before I can get the exact wording. I looked on the 'net to see how to get my Mac to 'open it anyway' but was not able to find the way to do this in my security settings. Once again, many thanks BIF for guiding me through this.0

I forgot to mention that when I go to System preferences/Security & Privacy/Full Disk Access I have allowed Native Access and Kontakt to have full access. There is no 'load it anyway' option that I can see.0

Thank you 'LostinFoundation'. I missed your post, apologies. Thunderbolt connector. When I open Kontakt, the Kontakt Factory 2 library is not visible.0

Oh ok…you didn’t say the download didn’t finish and NA gave you this message. Which, as far as I know, it shouldn’t at all.
Usually the download starts and finishes in “one round”: never heard of such a message being displayed.
I suppose something went wrong (it happens with NA) and now NA is stuck.
What I would do is cancel the partial downloaded files in the Downloads folder (THIS is something I have already heard of: failed attempts leaving corrupted files that then disturb a new try) and start a fresh new attempt to redownload it all from scratch.
To me it sounds quite normal you are not finding any Factory Library 2 folder: if the download never finished, the installation never started (it does at the end of the download, when the full .iso file is on your computer). Therefore it is not possible that a Factory Library 2 folder has been created. If you want in any case to be sure, check under the folder that is designed in NA for Libraries installation, but probably it will be the same that the error message is offering you (even if you say you found the partial iso files there, which is also strange, because those should be in the Downloads folder…).
@Hayo_NI this could be something you could be interested in investigating

I will be sure to hit you up if I'm ever in your part of Australia. I hope that's the Canberra you're referring to, otherwise we'll have to facetime our meet up! 😁

Yep. I’m in Oz. My favourite local beer is called ‘Bent Spoke’ and their pale ale is fabulous. There’s a coldie waiting for you. Thanks again.
