Hi everyone!

I'm hoping someone here who knows how to modifying the Langton's Ant block from Colugo. It's a fantastic piece of work, but I'm looking to enhance it for live performances in Ableton by incorporating knobs for real-time control.

Imagine being able to adjust the direction or the number of ants and cells on the fly, simply by turning a knob. It would really take the experience to the next level!

If anyone has expertise in creating knobs connected to these functions, I'd greatly appreciate your guidance.

Many thanks!!!

John

If its any use i already have a bigger version, its about double size. Dunno about creating knobs, but i guess its a fairly quick and easy mod.

Looks like it already has knobs. If you wanted to describe a bit more how you wanted it to look i could make the knobs larger for example, or give it white background etc...

    Hi Cal Scott,

Thank you for your response. I noticed a similar block from another builder, but the one from Colugo offers more modulation options.

I've attached a picture as an example of what it could look like, but unfortunately, I don't have the knowledge to build it myself, so I just copied and pasted some Bento Box knobs 😅

Essentially, if we could replace the highlighted function (currently requiring clicks to change values) with knobs, it would be fantastic.

Then, I could assign those knobs and map them into an Ableton rack, giving me full control with the Push.

I've experimented a lot with this sequencer, and the results always baffled me.

    Thanks again for your help.

Maybe Colugo will consider reposting it as a Live mod block for the Reaktor Library community 🙂

    Cheers!

    John

Sure, i can take a look, no promises... Colugo's a sophisticated programmer and his building style often baffles me.

Assuming i can... would you prefer the large or small version of the grid? And large or small knobs, or do aesthetics not really matter?

    Hey Scott,

I totally agree with you Colugo_ is really talented! I don’t mind about the aesthetic :) if I can just dial the values with the knobs that’s the main thing :) I quiet like the Colugo design.

    Big thank you again!
