Is it normal to be missing the Traktor S3 Controller Editor Template ?
Can it be downloaded from anywhere ?
Hey! Thanks for the clarification and my apologies for the misunderstanding.
The S3, as well as the S2 MK3, do have a midi mode but it is an independent MIDI mode that is driven purely from hardware. This means it is not connecting to our controller editor and is therefore not editable, hence why it's not there.
Apologies for the inconvenience! Let me know if you have any questions đ
S2 MK3 is also missing from the Controller Editor. What is going on NI?
Maybe something for the Traktor pro @Ryan @ NI đ
Indeed itâs missing. I also made a post on the old forum regarding some inconsistencies of the S2 MK3âŠ

hey all - if I'm not mistaken, I believe the S2 MK3 and the S3 are not available via the controller editor because it's not possible to edit or calibrate their controls.
https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210274845-Fader-and-Knob-Calibration-of-TRAKTOR-KONTROL-Devices
according to this article:
Note: the TRAKTOR KONTROL S2 MK3 and S3 do not allow their controls to be recalibrated.
Thanks for your reply @Ryan @ NI but thatâs not what we are talking about đ°
The article youâve attached refers to recalibrating knobs/faders of a controller IN Traktor Pro, not to remapping MIDI templates through the Controller Editor (an app that isnât strictly related to Traktor).
The actual issue is that the S2 MK3 and the S3 donât appear on the Controller Editor â> you canât customise the MIDI inputs/outputs â> PADs colors in MIDI mode, for example. You are stuck with the default MIDI configuration. The main problem (for me) is that Pads arenât RGB in MIDI mode, they are either Blue or Purple, and there is no way to customize themâŠ
And pads actually ARE RGB,because if you use it with Traktor in ânormalâ mode (not in MIDI mode), your pads will light up in multiple colorsâŠ
I hope Iâve clarified the issue enough for you to understand it đ
That is just one more downgrade from Mk2 version of Traktor S series hardware :(
I love the hardware but NI made it more limited in regards to previous versions of S2/4 which is not cool.
Okay @Ryan NI, I can understand that itâs directly related to the HW, but then, could NI release a firmware update to map different MIDI OUT signals to different PAD colors?
Currently, the S2 MK3 pads only have the options below regarding MIDI OUT RGB colors:
I know this is an old post, but being able to edit the S3 controls in the controller manager would be a big plus for me. Please add this NI.
