Massive: 1.6.0 KK mk2 keyboard
Just wanted to ask if this update is recommended for KK mk2 keyboard users?
Will this affect any functionality in Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6? I ask as it seems everything else is being updated for the Mk3 keyboard (Kontakt libraries etc.), yet I am still using my mk2 and Kontakt 6 for compatibility. I have therefore not been updating any Kontakt libraries.

Right you are, however I found the whole design messy as it took the Kontakt 7 UI approach. I much prefer the old browser and also as I use a lot of third party NKS, KK3 doesn't allow for certain metadata to be edited as in KK2. I won't go into it all, but there has been a lot of discussion about it in various threads here on the forum.

They all use the template adapted from the NKS Init patch instead of you only having the full mapping in that patch - don't know why NI didn't do that really though, why just provide one patch with the extended mappings?

Not a problem at all.
I also have a KK MK2 Keyboard and already installed the update.
And Maasive has nothing to do with Kontakt or its libraries.

Thanks for your response. I did however at no point mention Massive and Kontakt being related. I was simply noting the overall compatibility, as all Kontakt libraries are now being updated in line with KK3 software. Indeed with the release of KK3 software and Machine software upgrades, a bottleneck for mk2 users is inevitable. What I would like to ask you is if the additional parameters as described in the changelog are available on the mk2? Things update yeah, but do we get the benefits of the full feature set?

I don't understand. Why are you still on KK 2.9.6? I thought the mk2 KK keyboards are compatible (i.e. functional) with KK 3.x.

Yes, they are available!
However only when you load the "NKS init" preset. It has 22 pages, while the older presets have 16 pages.
So, it is just a matter of re-make them all by using the "NKS init" as a template. :-)
However i am not sure how we can do it, since it is an .nmsv file, not an .nksf. Maybe i will do some experiments with gulp scripts to see if i can do it.

Helpful to know, thanks. Not sure if it is an essential update at the moment given I am still on Mac OS Monterey. Useful to know moving forward though, as I may make it to Ventura/Sonoma one day. :)

Link does not work for me.
Anyway, it would be great to know what you did and how. If there’s another thread which explains it, a link would be sufficient.

Should do try now (I think you were just too fast and it hadn't all uploaded the first time)

Ah nice thanks.

OK now I have adapted the NKS Init patch as there was more to be added (eg wave and OSC mod type) that wasn't in it
