Hi everyone,

I bought a Komplete Audio 1 interface last month that came with the Maschine Software.

I played a bit around with the Software and think it's much easier to use with the HW. Found a good deal on a used Maschine MK2 without software license. My question is, can i plug it in and use it with my existing software straight away or do i have to register the HW anyway to be able to use?

@Babbush Yes you need to register it in order to be able to install all the necessary software. If you need more informations or having trouble when registering you can get in touch with our support here: bit.ly/NI_support_PA

@Babbush The only necessary (that enables you to make the device work) is the Maschine or Maschine Essential one. You also get the Maschine Factory Selection/Maschine Factoty library. You should also get Komplete Select with it.

@Babbush you absolutely do NOT have to register the hardware if you already have the Maschine software.

I used to own a maschine mikro and then I bought a maschine MK3 from a pawn shop and plugged it into my PC, then opened my pre-existing machine software that I got when I purchased my Mikro years ago and it recognize the MK3 immediately, with no need to register it or anything.

When you register Maschine hardware all it is doing is giving you the Maschine software anyway. But since you already have the software you are good to go.

It sucks that an actual NI customer care member is giving you false info.

@YoungJae Jeremy didn't say Maschine software - he said ALL the necessary software.

The OP only has Maschine Essentials at the moment. Registering the Maschine hardware would unlock Maschine 2 etc.

Don''t forget about Komplete Select, a more modern registration might get you a more recent version of K-Select. I am not 100% sure if this can be the case for MK2's since they are old but it can happen for sure on MK3's.

@Jeremy_NI What are those necessary software?

I own Maschine 2 software with factory library upgraded and Komplete 14 Standart. What else software do I need?
