Is it possible to edit the knob names that Komplete Kontrol uses?

Hi all

Is the editing software freely available (I see some on here have changed/made nks templates etc)

It would be nice to be able to sometimes change the knob names, for example, see the attached pic of Razor. All are labelled simply “knob x”. The “knob 1” in the attached pic controls cutoff, hence I want it to say cutoff not knob 1.

There’s 16 pages of controls in this example, most containing useful things but just called “knob”.

Thanks

I just looked on my Komplete Kontrol 3 on my PC (not at my mac with the mk3 keyboard attached) and there appears to be a little padlock on the top right of the software, click on it to open it, then change the knob name, then lock it again does that work for you ?

The editing software is Komplete Kontrol, once you have unlocked the mapping you can change most things how you like

    Many thanks.

When someone makes templates like the ones linked to in your sig, or the ones for sale at "[NKS] Freelance Soundlabs 3rd Party NKS Libraries for Komplete Kontrol / Maschine" this is all done from within Komplete Kontrol, there's no other NKS software needed/used?

    Thanks

Hi, many thanks for the tip that works fine, however I have to save as a user preset hence don't get sound presets when previewing sounds.

ideally I want to overwrite the original, as the names are missing from this.

I suspect I'm out of luck, hence I'll have to browse the original, find sounds I like, then switch to user and find and load it. Not hard to do but a little long winded in the spur of the moment.

Ah, now I see why they've named them like that lol, select a different wave and the names change, ah well, you live and learn

Actually having the ability to save as a user preset in this situation is really handy, set it up exactly how I want for a particular track, name the knobs to coincide to how I've set it up, then save the preset

The ones I make are just made in Komplete Kontrol and sometimes Maschine (but both use the same methods) - apart from the resources which are made with an image editor, text editor and sometimes audio editor for previews

Freelance Soundlabs also use scripting to automate some of this
