if you guys cant make the M+ work with 3.0 firmware then you need to do something that allows projects made on the M+ to be loaded into 3.0 software some how

otherwise this whole ordeal is bonked

You are right and thats the original elephant in the room! Its obvious the M+ was so weak hardware wise that it should of really only cost 600 dollars USD!

Not only that but CONTINUING to sell hardware that is not compatible with the companies CURRENT software seems like a scam!

Its like NI is asking for a class action lawsuit!

If your not going to make it compatible then stop selling M+'s you TARDS!

Better Business Bureau complaints is what we should all be doing if NI doesnt fix this ASAP.

and we are the elite NI users… M+ buyers are. We are the cream of the crop. NI you are pooping on your top users.

Our NI keyboards are an extension of the MASCHINE not the other way around. You guys are going to lose out on all kinds of money by screwing us over!

How come Akai can knock stuff out of the park with standalone hardware?

Hasnt their hardware made them even richer as a company? The Live, The One, all extremely successful.

    Where are the Germans at?

    Im done ranting…sorry guys.

FYI Akai are in exactly the same situation. Their desktop MPC software is currently not compatible with the standalone MPC 3 OS. They've really knocked it out of the park there apparently. 🤔

Saying it's a scam is ridiculous. NI said from the start that the standalone OS would be made compatible, and they've given a timeline for that. While we wait, we can continue to use Maschine 2 software.

Comparing the M+ to either of the two Akai machines is funny for either of us to do. There is no comparison at the moment.

and yes they were very successful and continue to be.

if you want to actually act like the live 2 and the one are not all around better engineered and better delivered to users than the M+ then I will just have to say that I disagree.

and NO.. they are not in the same situation.. its exactly OPPOSITE. The new software was compatible in standalone FIRST. That would be acceptable if it was the M+ in those same shoes.

No one bought a controller man… this is a standalone device first and foremost.

No one is pissed off at Akai for delayed firmware updates either…

AMEN. If Maschine isn't for professional music producers, performers, and composers, then why have a premium-tier for the hardware? (Maschine+). Why wouldn't they just stick with their existing hybrid ecosystem, which already worked?. I think the quiet part that nobody's saying out loud is that "wannabes", bar-bands, and DJs are the easiest demographics to sell to; Music tech companies focus way too much on the lifestyle ads, and not on essential features, bug fixes, and modular/self-serviceable & durable hardware. The Dentist-DJs & Uber Eats rappers of the world love shiny toys, and do not ever ask questions or demand better like someone whose livelihood relies on these instruments. Do any pro-level bands or solo artists tour with the Maschine+? I know Gnarly finger drums with Maschine, but she has every other sampler on the market, too. Finger drummers could be using a Boss Dr. Sample from 20 years ago and be fine. But what about national/international bands? All I can think of are youtubers like loopop or accurate beats…I have mentioned previously that Scott Fox of Ivardensphere once had good things to say about the Maschine+, but I haven't seen or heard any more gear rundown videos by him or his band in order to assess whether it became a permanent part of their setup.

It's a wonderful idea for a product, but all it seems NI are left with are "wonderful ideas" without much in the way of the resources needed to fully implement them. Or the resources are being allocated unevenly…hence my complaining about all the "Lifestyle ads" present in music tech. NI does seem to have produced a lot of filler content for youtube, though, and it does bother me that money was spent on that instead of R&D. It's just rather unprofessional for them to have rolled out Version 3.0 of the Maschine software and not have had it ready to go for Maschine+, right out of the gate. Even worse that we're about 6 months after that release, still without any updates.

I understand the frustration, and I also think there was plenty of time to fix certain issues with Maschine+. However, I believe getting angry is pointless—it’s like banging your head against a wall. The history of dance and electronic music clearly shows that tools are just tools, and companies will follow their plans rather than what users want.

In the end, you just have to do your thing, and if certain tools don’t work, you simply need to look for others. Destroying your own well-being is self-destructive. The Maschine+ update will be delayed—that much I already know. Our options are either to wait or switch to another software provider. Anything else, in my opinion, is meaningless. 🙂

You're right. Nobody uses Maschine+ on stage.. oh wait, did you catch the superbowls?

There are people using M+ in many scenarios, professional and otherwise. They just arent interested in shitposting at forums. People on Youtube and online forums are just one subsect of the userbase

So asking to fix bugs in expensive device is already equals to shitposting?

Regarding Superbowl, if you watch carefully this YT clip (link) you will find out that the only things this guy did was exactly the following:

    1. Painted his device in fancy colors

    2. Connected power and MIDI-out cables

    3. Loaded what looks to my eyes as an empty project which contains only 1 group with PAD MODE and METRONOME enabled

    4. 00:05 - 00:17 - Pretended to adjust bunch of controls on M+ while in reality doing exactly nothing

    5. 00:18 - Tapped one of M+ pads, which supposedly triggered playback of 1.5-second long sequence on the device to the left of M+ or maybe hidden somewhere underneath his Grand Piano

I personally have nothing agains his piano playing or singing skills, they are gorgeous. But he used M+ exactly like a expensive flashy toy and stage decoration, not as a musical instrument for live stage performances. Not even a single 8-bar loop was harmed during the course of this performance. Of course M+ is flawless in such scenario, its not even obligatory to turn its power on

Edit: Its not even sound-generating device to the left of M+. Its Force’s SFC-8 MIDI controller

Well, I guess this topic continues to be a never-ending story… or is it the end game? Because that’s why I’ve posted the suggestions. NOT to defend NI in not delivering as promised. Because YES, I do think they should deliver version 3 to M+ in standalone. Especially to customers who’ve bought the M+ after the announcement of ‘standalone version 3‘ was made.

And YES, I also consider it quite rude they allow themselves to F_U this one in all possible ways. No commitment from higher management whatsoever! A ‘simple’ beta not to be released within Q1-2025, without any clarification. Simply ‘hiding’ behind a beta program, a choice that’s even defended by some users… for me really that’s non-existence and incomprehensible.

@Simon_NI @Matthew_NI @Nick_NI @Chris_NI someone could and should inform your customers. No more excuses or fuzzy information. This is not okay. One week before the end of Q1 and it seems you cannot deliver… again! This one will not end ‘silently’. We’ve spend a lot of money, and like it seems on a ’pilot’ project or product.

IF this is the end, then plan for a decent ‘exit strategy’ that doesn’t harm your users. For me personally that would be a stable M+ on version 2, but with an import ( / export) option within version 3 on desktop. But I didn’t buy my M+ with the before-mentioned ‘promise’ of version 3. And, work on a solution to skip online activation!

IF you still going to release version 3, then start communicating more frequently… otherwise it will still end, simply because you’ve made this one into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
