M+ exclusive versions?
Better to release duplicates of their expansions labeling them “WAV only”…
NI doesn’t only point at where the money is. They also need a “0 work involved” strategy.
So many missed occasions, imo. But…hey…they are the experts…they’re the ones able to read the “user’s data”…

What I find baffling about the "user data" is that they assume that it represents all of their users, instead of just the ones who were able to give them feedback. The fact that a lot of people were pretty mad about the lack of Maschine support for the new KK keyboards kinda proves the opposite of what they claim about it being under utilized. Besides that fact, they could have made more marketing videos for the KK2 or asked influencers to do that so that people were more aware of the maschine integration. Oh well.

In some cases, hiding things is a form of marketing 😏

Oh my…. the whining is getting out hand. Every email update I get from these forums is some negative nancy and its getting a bit tiring honestly…
How long was NI around before the Maschine existed?
Imagine this. NI launches the Maschine and for years the feedback they get from their NI reps is that everyone hates it and constantly complains instead of talking about whats good.
What if you were on the development team and knew that you were tied up with limits but the people want more and more?
Do you think it would be a wise choice to continue investing in something like this if you were NI?
It very well may be the end of the Maschine when this is all said and done.
How many of you whiners can answer 10 questions that I randomly pull out of these two 500 page books?
-6 -
I would advise you to turn off notifications so that they don’t come to your email!

Whining about the whiners is second level whining. You bring nothing new to the table. Nobody needs to pass your right of passage to voice their opinion.
IMHO A lot of whining is due the NI not communicating with the community and not addressing the things the users have been asking for 10 years.
There is a lot of positive feedback too. And if you ask questions the community is quite helpful.
Your argument: if you whine, they might stop investing……5 -
🤣🫣 I guess those two ‘stones’ are not about logical reasoning…

I have some more advices:
- Don’t call people “negative Nancy” and “whiners”
- Don’t accept everything only because otherwise the product will disappear (btw: I’m convinced of the opposite: the product will disappear if badly threatened by the company itself)
- Don’t think people don’t know their Maschines and don’t think to be funny launching challenges about questions on the manual. Many know Maschine’s insides outs…and many of those are exactly the ones underlining what’s not working and what can be improved (btw: the complaints are often about NI attitude, not about Maschine itself)
- Don’t say false things: I bought first Maschine at day one. We PRAISED Maschine and its strengths for YEARS. And NI behaved, let’s at least say, not correctly for years. False promises, negligence on their product, bugs not fixed for years… And THEN people started to give negative feedbacks. And those come out of love for the product and will to see it shine, not out of hate. And from frustration. NI could give lessons about how to transform during the years users’ suggestions in negative feedback by ignoring them (damn’…even a “we won’t implement this because it’s not what we envision for our product” would have been better than their attitude…)
- Don’t think Maschine end will depend from users underlining their mistakes: if it makes money, it will survive. If not, it will be EOLed. That’s how easy is to understand how today’s economy works. And, as a company, seeing your competitors offering “more and more” is what forces you to give “more and more”, not the users
- About being development team asked with “more and more”… what they could do is e.g. show they at least listen to some (the less absurd ones) of the feedbacks users give them (feedback doesn’t mean only positive things, but also suggestions on how to improve). One example pertinent to the thread: why not creating (and SELL) ulterior dedicated instruments for M+? Not to talk about fixing bugs (which, btw, should be their duty…)
Oh…and, of course, following Alexios suggestion to not receive emails and not read the feedback posts, so the “negative Nancy” and “whiners” won’t mess your email. But, seen the count of your posts, maybe you are new here and didn’t know the possibility is there.
Sorry for being so direct…maybe your calling others by names didn’t help building a constructive exchange.
Oh…I forgot: how many of you with two 500 pages books know many of the things in those manuals are there because users asked for them instead of just shutting up? Will you randomly chose exactly some of those “obtained” features for your 10 questions?

@GrooveBox Wow those are some nice looking manuals! I've only been here a few years, and my Maschine+ didn't come with such a tome. I miss the days of printed manuals.
It's a shame. Ableton don't even offer a PDF version of the Live 12 manual now. 😥

I think he printed them himself. My Studio didn’t come with any physical manual. Or it’s a matter of different things included in the box in different countries.
If you need PDF version of Live 12 manual, someone made it collecting all the HTML:

I print most of my manuals the same way, and take them up to a local Staples store to have them spiral-bound like in that picture.
The last one I printed was for my Yamaha Montage M, and it just about choked my printer. Killed my Cyan, Magenta, and Black cartridges and forced me to spend over $300 buying fresh ones.

Is NI even workin' on Maschine?
Really, Maschine (especially Plus) feels like abandomware… MID SEPTEMBER 2024 NO UPDATES.

Well, what I also read from @Matthew_NI response to my questions on the upcoming Kontakt 8 release (see September 12th), is that the team did some work on the announced ‘fixes’. But someone (or the team) has changed priorities. So I would guess @Simon_NI is in the position to give the community some information in his upcoming ‘Quarterly Update’… because it’s that time of the year. And, maybe they’ll update the M+ to give us version 3 compatibility. I know this shouldn’t be the case, because those fixes and/or device specific features should be independent of DAW-software compatibility.
I also find it interesting that even their own (social media) marketeers don’t know the difference between Maschine and Maschine Plus. It seems that they think an upgrade of the DAW for the desktop, also means the M+ is updated. I can see why they think that, as it should be that obvious. But there’s a knowledge gap that’s the basis to disappointment, at least mine.
So again, GREAT PRODUCT, but lousy commitment (confirmation to a reliable, publicly available roadmap).

Exactly what I was thinking about the situation - someone changed plans. So i guess WE THE USERS are not so important. Shame.

I won't have time for dealing with a M+ update after an official MPC 3 release. 😉
