Why do I get error "That path is invalid" for folder with .nicnt file? (Acou6tics)

I had to reinstall Native Access and the library Acou6tics by Vir2 Instruments. Now that I try to "Locate" the Acou6tics folder (which contains the Acou6tics.nicnt file), I keep getting the error "That path is invalid". I have no idea what to do. I have no problems with other Vir2 Instruments libraries, even though the folders do not have .nicnt files. (I guess because they are older.)

The support team has provided a workaround for this issue:

Download and install Kontakt 5.6.6 (Player). They have provided a download link which I assume I cannot share here.
Open Kontakt 5.6.6 (Player) in standalone mode as administrator
Go to the Libraries tab
Press the "Add Library" button and select the Acou6tics library folder that contains the .nicnt file.
If Kontakt 5.6.6 successfully adds the library, open Native Access so that it can activate the library.

Now Acou6tics is shown as installed in Native Access and in Kontakt (Player) 6 and 7.
