M+ in place of Komplete Audio 2

Could the M+ be used as a sound card/audio interface? I mean, is it as good as the KA2 for that purpose? Of course the KA2 has mic/instrument inputs but for strictly listening purposes, are they pretty much equal?

They're pretty close. The KA2 looks marginally better from a spec point of view but there's not a lot in it. Once you get into the real world it's unlikely to be noticeable. The headphone out on the KA2 is more powerful, but if you're using speakers or lower impedance phones that's not going to matter.

Will I get the same quality as the KA2 if I plug my mic into the M+ MIC or LINE inputs using a XLR Female to 1/4 Inch. Maybe not since the Maschine doesn't have a 48v button like the KA2 does?

    Thanks

Depends on your mic - if you don't have a mic that needs phantom power (condenser mics, SM7dB etc) and you're not using a phantom powered preamp like a CloudLifter the lack of +48 isn't going to be a problem. The sample rate will go higher on the KA (192k vs 96k) but again, you're unlikely to see much of a difference.

I have a TZ Stellar X2 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser XLR Microphone hooked straight into the KA2, no preamp or anything. KA2 hooked into my laptop
