Hey all, latest update:
We are currently working on a fix to the issue, and have an experimental build of Kontakt available. Please note that this update is in the process of being verified, and may introduce other unforeseen issues. If you’d like access to this experimental update, please get in touch with our Customer Care team here: https://bit.ly/NI_support_kontakt (we already contacted some of you that already had contacted about on the issue)
For those who wish to continue using the released version of Kontakt, the following workarounds may reduce the frequency of crashes:- Avoid using an external monitor if using a MacBook
- Try an alternate connection (e.g. displayport / thunderbolt if using HDMI, or vice versa)
- Adjust resolution or frame rate of external monitor
- Use a different external monitor
Additionally, early testing indicates that the crashes are less likely to occur on macOS 14.5, which is currently in public beta. However, no timeframe for this macOS update is currently available. You can access their beta here: https://beta.apple.com/0

Hi! It may not be officially supported yet, but it could still run/work just fine.
Have you tried giving it a shot? Did you run into any issues?
As for information on official support, @Jeremy_NI may be able to provide some. He may reply here.

Hi! I tried to do all those things (full disk acces + moving my samples to an APFS disk). So far nothing works.
OR my system crashes completely. OR Logic crashes by itself when opening an instance of Kontakt 7.
One question though: must Kontakt 7 also be set as 'start in Rosetta' or only Logic?

Are you having issues with Kontakt 7 or with Kontakt 7 in Logic?
I have the same system on MacOS 14.2.1 and current on NI updates and I have no issues with Kontakt, but I don't use Logic.

Hi!
Kontakt 7 standalone makes the computer crash completely.
Kontakt 7 as a plugin in Logic makes crash Logic only.
Full disk access activated for Logic and Kontakt 7.
And sample libraries running from external ssd formatted in APFS via OWC Thunderbolt 8 enclosure system.

Could anyone tell me exactly what configuration/settings I should use?
Is there anyone with same computer configuration? (Mac Studio M2 Ultra 128GB, running latest update of macOS Sonoma)
I also installed Kontakt 7 on my (2019) Intel MacBookPro which has Sonoma and there it runs fine.

Or is it generally recommended to go backwards with OS (going to Ventura?)

Have you tried running Kontakt within Komplete Kontrol within Logic?
I can't try this myself right now, but I think I remember trying this last week as a workaround for a scenario similar to yours and I was surprised that it worked...

I don't have Komplete Kontrol...

Komplete Kontrol is free:

Just installed it. No Kontakt 7 is even showing...?
What am I doing wrong with everything here.
EDIT:
Oh and I also installed Kontakt Player via NA, and THAT IS WORKING as a plugin!

Great! This might get you through until an update brings better compatibility

Problem is that many of my plugins don't operate under Player.
And in the meantime I deleted everything and I managed to get it working with one added library. But now it's dead again.
:-(
Anyway; Merry Christmas! Hopefully 2024 will bring a fully compatible and stable version soon!

Hi,
I have a Mac Studio M2 Max 96GB running Sonoma 14.2.1
I started from scratch with my new computer. Nothing was imported from my old iMac late 2013.
My NI libraries are on an external OWC SSD
But after installing Native Access latest version and installed all my 240 plugins, Kontakt was showing some missing icons.
I understand that your problem is different but I would try resetting NI.
Here is the article number explaining how to reset NI. I am to new here to post links. Sorry.

For me, after resetting NI, all (Kontakt, Kontakt 7, Komplete Kontrol, Maschine 2 etc...) were working fine in Sonoma.
Hope this help

Thanks! I'll try that!

That's really interesting because that's the exact issue I had on MacOS 13. If I opened Kontakt it would cause a kernel panic and my Mac would crash instantly. Perhaps this is a bug with the Mac Studio M2 Ultra? I'm running the same. I can't speak to Logic issues as I use Ableton, but I don't run anything (that I know of) with Rosetta, everything is native Mac ARM.
I never had any issues with my M2 Macbook Pro, just my desktop Studio. Things have been fine for a while now though.
What are you using for an audio interface?
