Arturia V plugins GUI super slow in latest KK

Ego is a very hard thing to overcome for most people I think. :D Yes, I think it has something to do with maturity and the ability to self-reflect, I think the world would be a much better place if everyone did that.
Anyway...
I just went and retried in KK standalone and it DOES have the issue, but not as bad, for some reason I was remembering that bit wrong. However, loading any of the Arturia plugins on their own in Ableton work just fine or loading them into Arturia's own host, Analog Lab, they are very smooth, no issues. It's only when hosted in KK3 that the UI stuttering occurs, what's interesting is that it is slowing down the entire KK interface, even the Play Assist controls which have nothing to do with the loaded VST and again it's only certain plugins, so might be something Arturia is doing that is utilizing new features of the VST3 spec that aren't well supports, and/or vice versa, that NI is not optimizing in some of the newer areas of the spec. Who knows... From my perspective, how nice would it be to not have to spend so much energy debugging things when I could just be making music. I guess that's what I get for adopting new tech. haha!
On the VST3 vs 2 thing, I don't even see any option to install a VST2 version of KK. I'll look further, but I would think NI going forward will not support VST2 for KK3, but maybe I'm wrong. I'll check it out.

I have the same issue. Within KK3 (both standalone or in DAW) the Arturia CS-80 V4 is extremely lagging in the GUI - outside KK3 there is no issue with CS-80 V4. This also means that changing knobs on my S61 MK3 also lags and is not usable for real time change of parameters of the CS-80 V4.
edit:
Some more experimentation reveals that for me it is only the VST3 version of CS-80 V4 that is laggy, while the VST2 version performs well within KK3.
Tried also with CMI V and it has the same issue. VST3 is laggy, while VST2 works well.

Yeah so this may point to an issue in KK for sure, don't think KK V3 has VST2 option anymore, I did read something about it but personally I need VST2 because Im uninspired and have many unfinished projects that only offer VST2 versions of the plugins so that is one reason I don't want KK V3.
Hopefully with enough confirmed reports they can fast track a solution, especially since Arturia plugins are officially supported.

Hmm, very interesting... I get the same behavior. VST2 versions of the Arturia plugins work beautifully... So, an issue with KK3's VST3 implementation or a problem with Arturia's? I would go with KK3 being the issue considering the plugins work just fine outside of KK3.
I sure hope NI is listening.
Thanks for the insights!

My issues with the GUI and lag seems to have been solved with the new KK 3.1.0 :-)

That’s good, I have found also if you resize it so the browser window is the same size as the plugin window you don’t get so much lag when switching views

Ah, yes, I just noticed the update this morning. CS-80 V4 is much better but still more laggy than the VST2 version, the MINIFREAK is way better (the VST3 version was very laggy as well), DX7 VST3 still very laggy. So, clearly NI is working on optimization, which is a good sign.
I haven't gone through the whole list yet, but progress is good, hopefully it'll all get worked out sooner than later.. Thanks all!

Since you mentioned it happening only when using Ableton Live, you might want to check out this video.
The basic gist of the video is that not all DAWs use all of a CPU's cores. And that newer processors that had more "efficiency" cores than "performance" cores actually performed worse in some cases than older processors.
This video focused on the Mac ARM processors, but it would be interesting to see how some of these DAW's perform on the newer Intel processors that also have split their cores into performance and efficiency cores.

I just tried DX7 V and have the same experiences as you. VST2 version is working well while VST3 version is laggy.
Didn't try it out before updating to KK 3.1.0, so can't say if it has improved with the update.
Hopefully these issues can be completely fixed in future updates :-)
