X-Y input, such as in Ashlight?
Nope unfortunately, but on most (if not all) of the presets the X/Y parameters are mapped onto the first two encoders. If you have a controller that can send CC from an XY pad you can map them in Ashlight by clicking "Global" and learning the CC from your controller.

No, you can not. This encoder is used for numerous important actions.
Including navigation, adjusting values of parameters, browsing, selection confirmation and controlling Products.
For X-Y you can use (however this depends on the instrument and its parameters) the Touch Strip.
...but he already has a controller, an MK3 keyboard, and if he does what you suggest, he must use it as a simple midi controller, and not as an advanced NI MK3 brand new keyboard.
Furthermore Ashlight is a Kontakt library, so, he needs Kontakt, so he need his MK3 in full mode, not in midi mode, in order to load Kontakt and Ashlight.
Your first suggestion is correct however, in many cases X/Y parameters are mapped to the first two encoders, however Ashlight offers the assignment of the X/Y parameters in its Global page.
@Sunborn I use a separate X/Y controller and it doesn't affect the use of the Komplete keyboard at all. I just map it in the Global page using learn as I said in my comment.
@mykejb what do you use for X/Y?
@Martin Schmid I use "MIDI XY-Pad" on an iPad as an XY controller. I use "MIDI Network" on the iPad as a network MIDI sender and connect to rtpMidi on the PC - rtpMIDI | Tobias Erichsen (tobias-erichsen.de).
Thanks, @mykejb !
