In Native Access, Windows 10 PC, I can't uninstall some Heavyocity Kontakt instruments that are installed in the default 'Public Documents' folder, because the "path is not safe to remove".

Not safe, hey. 😅 Not safe.

I can't find the solution anywhere. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Maybe just move it to any other instrument folder NA uses inside your PC.

Either that, or just make a custom folder inside This PC, specificaly for NI plugins.

Then you can probably safely remove the older folder.

I may have had a permissions issue. Gave my 'Public Documents' full permissions for all users.

But never had this issue in the past. Checking again, after trying to uninstall them and getting that error message, and these instruments have been emptied out of Kontakt. They also don't give me an uninstall option anymore (on right click), and are now in the 'available' tab instead of the 'installed' tab.

But they are still present on my computer:

I can surgically remove everything, based on their file names. But would prefer a proper uninstaller because of registry keys, their existence in Native Access, etc. And I would really like to know what it meant by 'unsafe'.

I tried using the Microsoft Uninstaller Troubleshooter, but it couldn't find them either. So I need product codes to do it. Nowhere with Google searches could I find a method to find application products codes for a Windows 10 computer. Only shady third party software.

Again, manual procedure can sometimes fix things more properly, not automatic ones.

Make a Windows restore point manually then try using the Revo Pro (free trial available) forced uninstaller function to remove the offending product. Also advisable to allow Revo Pro to make undo prior to making any changes !

(To be completely safe from any screw ups it is always advisable to always have a full image based system backup)

If you have the program could you do me a favor and open it up and see your list, if there are Kontakt instruments in there? Because the third party ones aren't registered as programs, and don't have executables or uninstall files. So if Ccleaner and Windows doesn't see them as programs, neither will this program.

Unless it has a product code find feature.

that gave me the impression that you needed a tool that would work on the registry which Revo Pro does ,

Ok, but the issue that I can predict is installing this tool then finding that it runs into the same issue of not knowing which programs I want uninstalled.
