Maschine keeps playing an arrangement when there is no more material to play

Hi everyone,

I've arranged a song in Maschine. When Maschine has finished playing all the sections lined up in it, the playhead just keeps going even though there's nothing to play. When I export the song it's 10 minutes long instead of the intended four. Is there a setting or a trick to make it stop once there is no more material in the arrangement to play?

Thanks,

Remco

Thanks, D-One. Whilst I was looking for the loop braces I noticed a grey line from one of the tracks carrying on and after scrolling a large number of bars to the right I found a lone clip that somehow ended up there and made the track the length it was.

So, no setting or anything else, just a user error. Anyone else with this issue, make sure your timeline is clean after when the track is supposed to end. 🙄

    Hi Remco,

when this happens I enable ( loop optimize ) on. It is a setting on the export page called loop optimize.

    Peace

You could also put the file in a daw and cut out the rest you don’t need. Unclicking the “loop optimize” is good if you want effects and stuff to fade out

Thanks. I didn't know about that setting.

It must be something else in this particular case though as I get the same result. I tried adding a scene with nothing in it at the end too, but that didn't help.

I've kept it unticked. And you're right, I can just cut it shorter afterwards, but it just seems like something that could be avoided. Not an easy fix it seems.

Ah some of my projects also encountered this issue when the “optimise loop” can still export silence at the end! So I am also interested in this! I agree it does seem like it could be avoidable.

Could it be something with some sort of marker? In Logic there is some sort of arrow that you can move left-right across the timeline to decide the absolute stop of the project. I assume you’re working in the software and not standalone?

I'm working in the software, yes. It doesn't seem to have markers.

In the meantime I'll keep experimenting with settings and watch some more YouTube videos on arranging in Maschine. If I find a solution before someone posts one here I'll put it up.

Loop braces out of bounds? Just shorten it...
