Native Access 3.7.0 / Komplete Kontrol 3.0.3 / MacOS Ventura (13.6.1)
NIGHTMARE combination.............
Komplete Kontrol and Maschine run through "scanning" the same plugins every time I launch them. Maschine finishes faster, after a minute or so, but Kontrol takes at least five minutes, or more... It always starts with MS-20 V (Arturia) followed by Guitar Rig 6, and then continues scanning the same list.... over and over and over. NI plugins, Arturia plugins, Soundtoys, Softube, Baby Audio, Soniccouture, etc. all getting scanned as if for the first time.
In Native Access preferences -> File Management, I see this alert icon and a red outline on the text field, but no way to find out what it means. What does it mean??:
Does this have anything to do with the scanning issue? I get no other error messages currently, although last night Massive and Reaktor 6 couldn't be found by either Maschine or Kontrol so I reinstalled those.
I've done all the troubleshooting "resets", deleting folders here and there and rescanning everything. Restarting computer about 15 times, deleting databases and rescanning... over and over. ScanApp also crashes numerous times while scanning my library and there's no easy way to find out which plugins are crashing it.
Right now Komplete Kontrol is simply unusable. Scanning on startup over and over... and now, after numerous attempts, a large number of plugins are missing altogether.
I've spent over a dozen. hours on this, and I've had enough. Just upgraded to Komplete 14 Ultimate and TOTALLY regretting it. Hope I can find some help here.
PS: is there any way to change a user name here? I typo'd my username and it won't let me edit it. What a week I'm having!

Did you try to make a custom folder for plugins and then changing libraries there for Application location?(not inside the desktop, but inside the memory, something like This PC feature Windows has)

As for changing the name, well, you can't.
I tried to change it, but it said, 'You don't have the permission'.
So... yeah... you cannot change your username, sadly.
It is like the Curse of Binding.

Hope your issues get solved soon.

Yes, exactly. I spotted the typo just as I hit enter. I am now bound..........

I didn't try that... but I've since solved it. See below.
Thank you for your input, Milo!

I solved the issue, or more accurately, it solved itself somehow.
Because I was also still missing most of the thumbnails for all my new NKS plugins (and a few old ones as well), I did another pass at deleting all the DBs and settings, etc. from the various folders. Then I opened both Maschine 2 and Komplete Kontrol, and once the GUIs appeared, I started a full rescan.
That was at about 8pm. I left them running overnight. In the morning, they were done. Almost all the plugins were logged and available. A few of them in the plugin list were unchecked (meaning they'd either failed the scan or the ScanApp crashed), so I rescanned those one by one. All of them passed after a try or two.
So after another hour of 'file management', and leaving them for I don't know how many hours, everything sorted itself out, mostly.
All I can say is, if you run into this problem, do the full reset, and then let it just run unbothered for at least a few hours. Even though it looks like it's done scanning, it probably isn't. The best way to check, as far as I can tell, is to go to the full plugin list in Preferences/Settings, and make sure all your plugins are accounted for, and all are checked. Beyond that, I don't actually know what made the difference, other than a lot of extra time. But it's fixed! And that's good news.
Cheers!
