No sound with wasapi exclusive mode

Hi, after 15 years with macbooks I just bought a windows dell xps for dj work.

When I switch it on with my traktor s4mk3 the audio setting changes to wasapi exclusive mode and no sound comes out of the s4. Once I switch it to shared mode it works again.

Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to change this every time I connect the s4?

(Prior to making any alterations on your Windows then please at least make a manually made restore point in your Windows so you have at least that to revert any actions from!) (If making bigger alterations then a full system backup is always advisable to have to revert to !)

I don't have the Traktor S4 MK3 , but a suggested solution/'Work around' to a problem such as yours could be trying to use the VB-Audio "VOICEMEETER BANANA Advanced Mixer" for routing (it's free/Donationware License!) : https://vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm

normally the audio device set in traktor settings should not switch around on it's own, only if an audio device is not available, traktor normally asks then on startup what to use. But anyway please don't use wasapi drivers for dj purposes if you don't have to, use the driver provided on that website and set it to adios:
