Can not install instruments on external NAS drive

I have just purchased Komplete 14 and I would like to install instrument on my external NAS drive. When I change the Content Location folder to external drive I get below error. This is not a case when I change it to the default location. Then I can normally instal instruments on my Mac.

Any one has a clue how to fix this?

Thank you!

Maybe you can try this: to make a custom desktop folder for general plugins (if you are a PC user like me) or to make a desktop folder for either downloads, content or apps alone (if you use Macintosh)

I tried to do this tip i figured out when i had similar issue when i installed or even update K7 Bundle and it helped me.

I hope it helps you too!

    Hi Milos,

Thank you for your answer! Can you please confirm if I understand you correctly. I should create a folder on my desktop (Mac user) and direct Native assistant to this folder? I am not sure how later I can cut and paste this folder to my external NAS drive...meaning simple cut and past would work?

    Thanks!

If you move the folder later you'll have to manually relocate the items in NA which will get tedious very quick if you have a lot of libraries.

How is your NAS formatted? Are you running something like True/FreeNAS or is this a commercial Synology/QNAP type NAS?

Hi, I have Synology NAS and just did basic Synology installation. I can open the drives in Mac, open folders and all works.. just not sure how I can connect this to NI...

    Thanks!

I'm guessing the issue is your NAS. NI seems pretty particular about wanting to be installed on APFS drives. Adobe is the same way, I couldn't even install Adobe cloud software on an APFS partition that was case-sensitive so I had to reformat my external drive.

Putting stuff on desktop won't make a difference, the key issue is it doesn't look like NAS drives are supported for Kontakt libraries, this has been discussed a few times.

Ech...this is not good, as I don't have so much space on my Mac to install all the instruments I have...Thanks for the link I will read to see if there is any hope:)
