Hi all!

I would like to adjust the time and intensity of a brass swell, but I can't find any possibility to do this.

Do I miss a knob or something?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and helping out!

Try to play with MIDI learn and automation feqtures in your DAW.

    it might help.

Let me know if it works.

Do you mean ‘volume fade in’ (swell) automation in the DAW? This might work. It is a workaround. I was hoping the option is also available within the plugin. There are swell samples with a first short attack.

Yeah, you can try anything with automation.

I'm not sure if the NI versions actually capture the full range of articulations and dynamics the some of the other companies do. I typically use either 8Dio or Soundpaint for such instrument (horns, woodwinds, strings, etc.) since they capture the actual range of the dynamics and such and translate them through the velocity layers along with a wider range of articulations at the various velocities.

I’ll check them out. Haven’t heard of them yet. Thanks!

I don't think other sampled instruments are better, the swell is recorded that way. So if you want a different one use a long holded note and use an envelope to shape it for example, increase the attack time.

I think you guys are right; create the swell by automation etc.

    thanks.
