Setting key with s4mk1

Hello
how can i change the key of a track without changing tempo on the traktor kontrol s4mk1 with latest version of traktor?
i found out that i can aktivate/deactivate key-lock with the combination "Shift+Play".
I want to be able to stepwise set major/minor and semitones up/down with the kontrol-hardware, not with the mouse in the software.
thank you for your help!

I am setting up a mapping for your S4MK1. Shift+Loop Encoder turn will adjust key by semitone. Shift+Loop Encoder press will reset to +/- 0. How does that sound?

Do you have any experience with using the controller manager and mapping assignments?

rank you for your answer!
No, no experience, i am new to dj-ing and all the hard and software.
but reading the manual, i would find a way to assign a button of my choice on rhe controller to that function?

Later this evening i will upload the mapping. You will be the tester, my own S4MK1 broke down completely a few years back. I'll explain how to load the mapping.

Go to Preferences➔Controller Manager.
Select the S4 mapping from the device dropdown at the top.
Directly below is the button Delete to remove the mapping from the list. Use it, we don't want duplicates.
Next to the Delete button is the Add button, to add a new mapping. Press it and select the following file (after downloading it to your computer).
Now you can test. Do this for all four decks, as the modifiers in this mapping depend on pressing the deck button and of course the shift button. Each shift button secondary function only applies to the corresponding side of the controller.
...
You can also take a peek at what i have done in the mapping. Maybe use it as a kickstart for further mods. You can always ask questions if you have any.
Making this mapping is a lot easier than explaining how to set it up from the ground up, but from there it should be way easier.

Hey! I just tested it and it ist just what i was looking for so thanks again! It works on Decks A B and C, but even though i select Deck D (Button right side above jogwheel) the command "Shift + turn loop encoder" is performed on deck B. "
"Shift+press loop encoder" now has the same effect as "Shift + Play", it activates/deactivates the key lock, which is absolutely ok for me!

I've labeled all deck commands in the comments of the mapping file. If you take a look at it, you can check for the deck assignment of the commands. There must be a line each for 'keylock', 'key adjust' and 'semitone +/-' for every deck. It could be that what i wrote in the comment and what is actually assigned differs (i couldn't test).
You can repair it yourself by looking for the commands with the modifier condition 'M(odifier)2 = 3'. Those commands should all correspond to deck D, not to deck B.
Otherwise, happy to know that you got it working. Enjoy.
Edit: I found my mapping mistake! This is the new working file to use. :)

Thanks again for al the ffort you make to help! Ive loaded the new version into the controller manager, but that hasnt`t changed the "deck D situation". I went through the control settings and looked at the "Modifiere conditions, which are all set on M2=3 for "keylock on" "key adjust"and "semitone +/-".
But i am grateful for your help, this is already much more than i expected to find. I`m akready having fun with the new settings and maybei I`ll dive into mapping later on, to find out how to make deck D do this "trick"

I had another check and found a second mistake, and the first mistake i corrected wasn't a mistake at all. It would have been so much easier if i had that device on hand. ^^
Anyway, try this third version. It now looks (again) like it should work. :P

Enjoy.
Also, if you want to add more Traktor functions you now have a modifier skeleton for overrides.
Left deck
- M1 = 0 : Deck A
- M1 = 1 : Deck A (SHIFT)
- M1 = 2 : Deck C
- M1 = 3 : Deck C (SHIFT)
Right deck is the same for B and D, but with M2.
Always make a check in the 'override factory mapping' checkbox. :)
