everything turned to whack - Kontakt 7 upgrade shows all my libraries but doesnt load them
All started when I 'upgraded' Komplete Kontrol to v3. I have a mk1 keyboard
I got things working again in Komplete Kontrol but not in Kontakt 7...(shows all my Libraries but wont load them)..was running Kontakt 7.x...Thinking if I 'upgrade Kontakt to v7.7 it would fix this, but now my libraries wont even load <or even show up> in Komplete Kontrol so everything is totally useless.
How do I fix this?
Everything shows up with the pretty graphics on the left side of Kontakt, but the drop down doesn't show instruments to load. It invites me to locate the library which I manually can and then things might work ok. Obviously who would want to have to do that every time
I'm guessing the system cant find the .nki file for the libraries??. Everything is set up right in Native Access and pointing to the right places. I tried reverting back to Kontakt 6 but that no longer seems to be a viable option
All because I have a perfectly fine mk1 keyboard..
Hoping to get this fixed because I am stuck using native instruments stuff since I bought a lot of their instruments and now I cant make music..thanks for any help

here's a screenshot. i wouldnt mind dropping the .nki file into every library but that only lasts for a current session

You want to click on where it says Instruments and then load the nki file from there.

thats what i've been doing, but the instruments only stay there for as long as that particular instance of Kontakt is open..it's not permanent. If I reload Kontakt I would have to do that again every time I want to load an instrument..any instrument.

I'm new to Kontact and KK, but is that not the expected behavior? Just as you would open Word, or Powerpoint they open to a blank document?
However, it does look like you can change the default rack that opens, by saving your current setup under File -> Save as default multi

Adding more info to all this mess.
I can now go in my DAW (Bitwig) and open an existing project with a track created in Komplete Kontrol and ALL the instruments show up should I want to change instruments in the track...
If I add a NEW track in either Kontakt 7 or KompleteKontrol I am presented with nothingness.
So I cant start from scratch in Kontakt or KompleteKontrol standalones but things work but I have to copy an old track in my DAW, delete the contents of the track, and then things work normally. Problem is things like multiscripts I recently created don't show up anymore plus whatever other problems there are that I am not yet aware of
hahahahaha..this is whacked
I think we can take the fact that I use a mk1 keyboard and legacy Komplete Kontrol because you have to out of the equation....There is something wrong with what upgrading Kontakt did to my system...it started when I went from Kontak6 to 7 and some things didn't work right but I never use Kontkt in standalone so I don't really care...and then I upgraded to the newest Kontakt thinking it would fix them and things don't work at all now
AGAIN: Kontakt shows all my libraries as normal and available in the settings, but does not permanently fix them to the pretty pictures on the side of Kontakt...Seems to me it isn't looking in the place I have always had the .nki files installed to..those directories all look like they should and Native Access is properly pointing to them. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kontakt, reverting to Kontakat 6 but I don't think that is a viable option..and some other things
Surely someone from Native can help out? I would create a support ticket, but am hoping this way will be much faster

I opened a support ticket for this..
In the mean time I am on KK 2.9 and back to Kontakt 6 and can now make music in my DAW with NI stuff..the standalones of KK and Kontakt are pretty broken. In the process of trying to 'upgrade' KK and Kontakt I;ve experienced many of the various problems that have been posted in this forum..wasted a bunch of time. I;ve been using NI stuff for a few years now, and never had any serious problems...until now.

Done with this. NI has a multiple of problems with their Native Access, Kontakt, and Komplete Kontrol softwares... and their new keyboards. I;m not installing or 'upgrading' anything from them now and certainly not buying anything from them
Heard back from support who announced they are busy..am I supposed to respond with 'Sorry to bother you'. ? They offered no possible solutions, other than sending them the results of their tool.
I think I know what so many people are having so many problems with the software. At least a big reason. I'm thankful things are working inside my DAW compared to what other customers are dealing with. ..a t least I can go make music now...

fixed this...and some things I did made things run faster so that was the silver lining in having to spend so much time. peace out
